Best WLM Reviews
This is a burger joint! There was a 20 minute wait for seating. However, I did see posting for reservations. Very family inviting. The service was great. Now let's get to the food. I built my burger. The jalapeño bacon jam started out really good but got sweet toward the end. Compliments to the chef. My teen has NEVER cleaned a tray and he did here! Locals and visitors I highly recommend this place. My family and I will definitely be returning as your honorable locals.
Barrel 17 is a Vibe. My husband and I ended up in this space accidently. The atmosphere was loud but quiet, crowded but intimate, it smelled of delicous food. The hussle and bussle was heart warming. The gentleman that greeted us upon entry also bussed tables. He cleaned the tables with soapy water. He REALLY CLEANED the tables. I wanted to give him a hug, lol. He set the tone for the restaurant. Our waitress/server, Kylie, I apologize if I spelled your name wrong. Kylie was attentive, positive, pleasant and respectful. I must mention that myself and my husband are black. Yes it is 2024, and people are still unenlightened. With that said at No Point, did we feel like we did not belong, as it appeared we were the only black people in the restaurant. We are Not from VB. So we must be aware of our surroundings. We eventually learned the cooks were black. We started our experience with a beverage. Our choices were great!! Apps were huge, we had the pretzel, fried pimento cheese and fried pickles. Delicous! You could tell the grease was fresh. Our entrees were the fried flounder sandwich with tator tots and chicken asian zing wrap and fries. Every bite was amazing. The cooks deserve a raise. You can tell they like their jobs and take pride in the products they send out to the customers. We must give everyone that contributed to our experience a round of applause. Please do yourself a favor and visit this spot. Did I mention we were almost full just from the appetizers. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Pretty darn good bacon cheeseburger. The meat was good quality, well seasoned and cooked perfect. The bun could use some work, it just didn’t hold up very well. The burger wasn’t too messy but the meat was very juicy and by the end the bun was falling apart. Fries were also very good. Service was fast and friendly.
I arrived here with my sons at 6:38pm on a Sunday evening with my sons, while visiting the area. I found them on Yelp. The main reason why I chose them is because they had wings that were affordable and looked good. We were able to choose our seat from what was available.
There are 4 TVs present, two at the bar and two on the other wall. They do have an area for kids to play. The atmosphere is very casual as the staff were wearing casual clothes. The establishment isn’t very large with about 13 tables and bar seating. there is adequate spacing between the tables.
Our order was placed at 6:45pm. One of my boys got chicken tenders and fries while the other got a cheeseburger and fries. I got teriyaki bbq wings to start. At 6:55pm, I ordered my meal. I got the patty melt without the garlic mayo and sweet potatoes fries.
The first set of food came at 6:59pm, which was the wings and the kid’s food. They enjoyed their food. The wings were crispy and delicious. I did notice that majority of the wings didn’t have sauce on one side of them. However, there was a pool of sauce at the bottom of the container when the wings were finished. I really enjoyed them.
I received my patty melt and sweet potato fries at 7:20pm. The fries came out with a sweet sauce (vanilla, Carmel, bourbon, and honey). I feel the honey was overpowering the other flavors, which I didn’t like. The fries tasted fine by themselves. I have mixed feelings about the patty melt. It wasn’t nasty but wasn’t the best I ever had. I’d probably try a different burger, if I return.
Our waiter was Kyle. I overheard him tell another table, but he didn’t tell us that when he sat us or began serving us. Overall, good experience. I would return. I observed great team work with the staff regarding seating guest and running out food. It stayed consistent with guest. As guest left, more came. It was never completely full, however. When we left, it was dark. They have a light on the side of the building which keeps the parking light lit, which is awesome!
Barrel 17 left a lot to be desired. The whiskey burger was sad, lack luster, and looked more like a slider than a burger, especially for the price. I ordered medium, and so did my coworker, his came out medium, and mine was well well done. Advice, you shouldn't ask if I wanted my burger redone, when I showed you, you should have been let me get get that re done not would I like it redone? The crispy onions that were supposed to be on the burger were non-existent and the paper thin bacon was translucent, finally it definitely did NOT taste like waygu. Onion rings were amazing.
Decent burger and fries (MexiCali pictured). The fried pimento cheese and pickles were my personal favorite (also pictured)! Not going to knock your socks off as the best burger you’ve ever eaten but overall, a standard burger. Service was decent but slow due to the customer to server ratio. Felt like our server was bogged down with tables and the guy who was hosting wasn’t really offering her much assistance. Overall, a positive experience!
Arrived on a rainy December night and found a seat by the window near the Christmas tree. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were concerned that quality of service and food preparation might be lacking because it was a Sunday evening and you don't always get the A-team; we were wrong. Everything was fantastic.
The Ahi tuna appetizer was ridiculously good and cooked to perfection. My whiskey burger with the "beast" patty (made of elk, buffalo and wagyu) was phenomenal. The chocolate cake was a very generous sized desert that my wife and I couldn't finish despite trying our best.
Our waiter Kyle's shift ended about halfway through our dining experience but he stayed late because they were a bit busier than they had expected. Despite not going home on time he was all smiles and had great energy. We will be back in the future.
The food is absolutely delicious. There were choices for everyone in the family. The blackened tuna sandwich was fantastic, very fresh, and generous in its portion. Their fried okra is probably the best I've ever had. Even when there was a mistake in one of our orders, the staff solved the problem very quickly.
