Loved the outside decor with giant animals and a real smoker. Inside decor is great. Rustic, classic, weird (a bbq restaurant with an aquarium??). Our hostess/waitress was super friendly and responsive. My son and I both got pulled pork sandwiches which were delicious. Moist, not a huge amount of meat and very mild smoke but good sauce. The mystery dipping sauce for the crispy housemade chips was a strange mixture. Our waitress didn’t know what it was but it kind of seemed like blue cheese dressing mixed with ketchup. Super sweet tea! Very light crowd early on a Sunday afternoon. Loved it, would definitely go again.
The service was awesome, and the food was spectacular. The BBQ pulled pork is on-point. The shredded chicken was great. The red skin potato salad was exceptional. We also picked the pull pork nachos, baked beans, coleslaw, and fries they were all really good. It smelled so good when it came to our table that I forgot to get pics.
I highly recommend a stop by this place if you get the chance
We was in the area (me and my wife) and thought it sounded good. We went in and was seated immediately and she said she would be right back with our drink order. Never came back. There was no one that we could see eating. Set there at least 15 minutes and decided to leave. She was still standing behind the counter where she was when we came in. My wife told her and she said sorry and kept doing what she was doing. Ridiculous… the menu looked good but I wouldn’t know how the food tasted. We won’t be back obviously
Today was our first time here. Everything was no less than amazing. Our server was awesome. Food was top notch. Atmosphere was better than we ever expected. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. We will be back for sure.
Home-style food. I usually order baked steak or chicken livers. My husband prefers the ribs or a burger. He's only had one issue with how his burger was cooked, I haven't had any issues. The sides are good, and I highly recommend the corn fritters. The staff is friendly and the decor is cute. They have live music some weekends.
Buyer Beware
I'd give less stars but there isn't a way to do it. The waitress was not nice she was snappy . When asking about spaghetti sauce for the spaghetti she said there is none it's made individually for each order... I had to laugh. NO restaurant makes individual batches of spaghetti sauce per order, I mean cmon did they think customers would be dumb enough to believe that bull. ???? wow. There was a short haired blonde lady that worked there that would've NECER let that BC to go on. Bring her back. We immediately got boxes to feed the junk to our dogs since we paid almost 40.00 for it anyway. She gave us 20% off of the food that was burnt and inedible how nice of the waitress who acted like she inedible the place . When I asked where the blonde lady was she said " I'm the only blonde here, she was here when I first started but she quit since I've been here" wow I'm sure you weren't the reason she quit honey don't flatter yourself or maybe the bad service IS the reason she quit and the bad food being allowed to be served. We will NEVER go back there. It was definitely NOT worth 40.00 we left and went to Captain D's.
Disappointed in some of the food we ordered. Some was good some wasn't..mac n cheese was excellent..mashed potatoes and gravy not good, greens are not good at all, ribs ok, didn't come off the bone as easy as they should have. I'm sure there's a lot of things on the menu that are to die for. It was my first time.
I’m a local who orders from here with regularity. The “2 Can Dinefor $28.99”. It includes a generous portion of all their smoked meats and 4 sides plus hush puppy’s. All their meat is tender, juicy, and flavorful. Our favorite sides are cabbage, greens, baked potato, sweet potato fries, and Mac and cheese. The green beans are ok but don’t have the rich flavor of others.
We tried the country baked steak special tonight and it’s wonderfully tender and exceeded expectations. A cold draft beef brewed in WV is a nice touch.
