Best WLM Reviews
Writing this review after the third time going there and still very happy! Almost all of the food is phenomenal! I would always recommend the Montego, sourdough bread, and any paella. They tweak the menus from what we can tell but sad the skirt steak was replaced by the sirloin as it was much better. Service is great! I would go back for our next special occasion! You will enjoy the unique cuisine of Spain! Parts of the inside dining room can be tight when it gets busy and noisy. We have yet to sit outside however they are known for the outdoor experience!
It is our 1st time come here, we like it and we will come back again.
The menu has small plates and big plates.
We had 9 plates, including bread at beginning. Super full ????
8 small plates & 1 big plates (pork shank)
- beet salad: 7/10 . Too sour for me. But still good.
- pumpkin soup: 10/10 . Amazing.
- grilled octopus: 2/10 . Nah...cold dish. It doesn't taste like octopus.
- calamari: 7.5/10. It good and fine.
- fried potatoes: 8/10z
- mussels: 8/10. I wish they can bake our bread more a little bit.
- pork shank: 7.5/10 . Sweet pork shank. But the cabbage, it doesn't match with it.
- chocolates: 10/10
Went here for an anniversary dinner with my fiancée. I put this detail in the reservation and they did have a menu saying happy anniversary, and the man who seated us wished us a happy anniversary as well, which was good. The atmosphere is great, one thing I liked was the music volume was not too loud. The service was fantastic and we were well taken care of by our waitress.
We ordered red wine flight, a plate of mussels and fried potatoes to start, and all of that came out pretty quickly. I was very happy with the size of the mussel "plate" (it came in a metal container) and the potatoes too. Both tasted great, best mussels I've had for sure.
We also ordered the Lamb Paella. It was easily enough to feed two people with some left over, especially after having eaten two plates. Unfortunately, the Lamb was far more rare than expected and was very fatty to the point that the vast majority of it was just not edible. This was pretty disappointing especially because of the price. However, the rest of the Paella was very good and flavorful.
To end on a good note though, we did have the pumpkin cheesecake and it was incredible, probably one of the best cheesecakes I've had from a restaurant. Oreo crust was super good and the pumpkin flavor was perfectly balanced.
I think Barcelona is absolutely worth going to for a nice dinner, I doubt the Lamb mistake is the norm and their food was great otherwise, as was everything else. I'd probably go for the Paella Barcelona (the seafood Paella) if I returned or was recommending to others, since they clearly do seafood well here.
If you love tapas, then this restaurant should definitely be in your list! Well known for their outfit patio, the restaurant itself is full of color and decor tucked away in German Village. The restaurant itself is a short drive away from the theater district and is perfect for date night or small groups.
My recommendation would be to start of with the Plato de Charcutería, a great selection of meats and cheeses and pair that with Ensalada de Remolacha (citrus beet salad). We've always enjoyed the Almendras Marconas paired with the red wine sangrias.
You honest can't go wrong with the small plates menu. I've personally enjoyed the Costillas, the blue cheese cream sauce is very mild but very well executed. If you love seafood, then the Camarones al Ajillo (Garlic shrimp) and Mejillones (muscles) need to be on your plate! If you have 3-4 people, then try the various paelles!
The food is just so overpriced.
I have never had so bad paella before.
It tasted so bad, I think someone just burned it???? the drinks also had more ice than the actual drinks. Just one good thing about this place is the service. The waitress did her job very well.
The first time coming to Columbus for a conference and this place came highly recommended by a few people. The atmosphere and decor was tantalizing. The walls were decorated with art and there was live music! ( Wednesdays 6-9). We had 5 people and shared 7 tapas and the bread and it was more than enough. We ordered: the Patatas Brava, fried potatoes with a soft warm center, crispy exterior topped with a creamy roasted garlic aioli on fresh tomato sauce (so fresh, it was as if you made it by hand seconds before it was served); carameres frito- calamari, it was good but you have to eat it quick or the light breading will become soggy; empanadas- a light and crispy shell pastry stuffed with cheesy goodness; Costellas- braise short rib so tender it melts as you touch it covered in a savory blue bleu cheese sauce; coles de bruselas- sautéed Brussels sprouts that is slightly sweet from the bacon, creamy from the goat cheese achieving perfect harmony for your tastebuds; salchicbas estofadas- sausage and braised beans had fun textures of the creamy beans, crunch from panko and spice of chorizo and sausage. machego- if you love bread and cheese, this is for you! Warm baked creamy manchego with sourdough bread and herb oil. The sundried tomatoes jam was so good. Slightly sad I didn’t try the paella but we were so full we couldn’t take another bite after the tapas. If we ever visit again we will definitely come back!
Phenomenal! Excellent food. The paella is exceptional. Our server Lauren was wonderful. She provided recommendations and spaced out the meal very well. Will absolutely return!
I don't think you can really ever go wrong with Barcelona. It's the paella for me, every time. So amazing.
