Val was friendly, knowledgeable about men's hair, made me comfortable, and gave me a great haircut. It's great to find a men's stylist that doesn't just focus on fades. I have curly hair, and she showed a lot of care and familiarity with how to handle it. I will definitely be going back.
Barber Val is awesome. For background, I’m a Marine veteran and have always kept the medium skin fade like I used to get in the Corps, except, it’s often times difficult to find a barber who can really cut a quality fade and I’m very picky. Val went above and beyond. I told her what I wanted, and she not only cut a perfect medium fade, but her years of experience is what set her apart and instead of just taking a set amount off the top, she worked with the shape of my head and my type of hair to help accentuate and contour the top while still maintaining the look I wanted. Every other barber simply throws on a guard or scissors to a specific length on the top. Val did what I haven’t had a barber do in years. She’s also a blast to chat with and it’s so much fun every time I go. Highly recommend!
Val is awesome! Been getting my hair cut by her for 15+ years now. She’s very friendly and offers all kinds of perks now that she has her own place. All that aside, she gives a great cut and makes me look and feel good. It’s very rare to find that and it isn’t going happen walking in and getting a random barber every time at some chain store.
Val is the greatest! Not only is she efficient and very talented - she’s also hilarious. 100% recommend her to anyone looking for great cuts and conversation in the Santa Monica area.
