Good Waianae local food. Sis hooked us up with shrimp fried rice and burgers and fries
Been here in Oahu for 8 days now, and I’ll tell you what, this is some of the best food I’ve had. Got the chicken and short rib combo plate. Fast service, and you can tell it’s a favorite of the locals. Paid $30 for two plates and two drinks. Heavy portion sizes! Yum! Thanks Kai Barbeque!
This a late post, but I had to share some of my fav spots on the Island. Its been a min since I've been back visiting the west sai. Barbecue Kai was always our go to for good food at an affordable price. Breakfast plate back in the days were like $5 eggs, rice and portugese sausage, cant beat that?! This time around ordered, BBQ mix plate that came with BBQ chicken, teriyaki, Bbq short ribs, rice and mac salad $15, mochiko chicken, rice and mac salad $11. The service was fast and friendly! As for the the ambiance, its outdoor seating with a window were you order food.

Gave very little, asked for something else paid for it, but only got shrimp, then got told I should have read the fine print on the bottom. So I said once I get my receipt, I'll be back to get the extra I paid they said come back when the other person was there because it wasn't her. The person was very rude, the food was very little and not worth the price same on you all for thinking it's ok to talk to people harshly on the phone. It was better when you didn't answer phones. But yet when that happened and I asked why it was said you don't do phone orders but yet today I saw 3 people come to pick up phone orders. You all need to get the Info together or at least pretent to give a damn on what's going on with your customers
They’re quick, the food is delicious & their prices are awesome for what they provide!
My husband and I stopped here after being told to stay clear of the food in this city, but let me tell ya, this place is very good. I ordered the BBQ chicken fried rice, which was delicious (just get a teriyaki sauce to drizzle on top) and my husband got the Chicken katsu and had no complaints! Thanks for the good meal.
Excellent selection for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. LARGE portions and good pricing. All food has been delicious and flavorful, often 1 plate can be 2 servings.
Service is always fast and filled with Aloha.
Usually call take out orders for pick up just to avoid lines... sometimes it can be busy. But orders usually not long from Order window.
Great place to stop on the way to or from Poka'i Bay or even to get while at the beach.
They have an Excellent selection and reasonably priced catering menu for small or large parties. Awesome portions for prices and they often meet any special requests. Our keiki love their fried noodles with NO veggies. It tastes like fried saimin from da Manapua Man.

Love this takeout window spot. Soooo many things on the menu. Amazing teriyaki chicken. Amazing NY steak. Great price. Cash only. Pick up some food, eat it at Pokai beach!
