Best WLM Reviews
I love supporting my fellow Vietnamese community and small business owners but I felt inclined to write this review because I found a piece of long hair inside of my egg roll.. that did not leave a good impression on their cleanliness and sanitary practices nor my appetite. I ordered a special rice plate with pork chop Togo and did not receive napkins or utensils. The food was mid, pork chop was dry and tasted like beef jerky instead of lemongrass pork chop per authentic viet flavors.
It doesn’t look clean inside the restaurant. Food was ok. The rice was soggy somehow. The dried noodles was bland.
Pho is one of my favorite dishes, and I decided to go for the server's recommendation, which included wonderfully charred and saucy spare ribs. The atmosphere of this Vietnamese restaurant is draped in artwork reminiscent of street vendors, and there's a sheer character in that belief which is demonstrated in table side heaters and the use of coffee cans for utensils. The service is prompt, kind, and efficient. They had non-stop take-out orders and managed to serve a party for two accordingly. The pho brisket was delicious, ranking as one of the best broths I've ever had. Spare ribs with an egg roll, rice, and salad proved to be an excellent summertime meal. I can't wait to return to Bahn Town for another affordable and savory experience.
I was craving banh mi and decided to try Banh Town. I had the pork special banh mi with a fried egg. It was excellent! All of the meats were unctuous and tasty. A bit of pickled carrots and daikon radish with cilantro cut through the rich meats. There was some special mayo-based sauce at the bottom that I wish had been spread around a bit more on the roll. The fried egg was the kicker; it made the sandwich that much more rich. The roll was tender and flaky in all the right ways. The young woman who was running the front of the house was kind and gracious. I was curious to see how many folks ordered take-out. I was the only one to eat there.
Oh man, with all the good Vietnamese restaurants around the unique dishes really make this place worth going to. The lemongrass curry beef and noodle and chaus dirty rice was sooooooo good. The quail poppers were jam packed. Will definitely come back to try the corned beef banh mi.
The pho itself was delicious and came fast, the egg rolls we ordered never made it to our table, but the large group who came in two parties after us got egg rolls no problem. They also got to order their food before patrons who walked in right behind us, and before them.
Won’t be returning, too expensive for sub-par service.
I was hesitant at first, but after ordering multiple times, the quality of their grilled pork banh mi and 5 spice chicken remains consistently good!
Banh Town is a pretty good Vietnamese restaurant. It’s located in a little strip mall with limited parking. I was lucky to find one spot open when I stopped by on a Sunday around 3pm. The restaurant has a somewhat contemporary aesthetic with the menus, the metal chairs, and logo. The people working there are friendly, but they unfortunately were bringing our dishes to another table that had shown up after us. While we couldn’t tell at first, the other table looked a little confused when they received the food. Finally when my dish came out and was delivered to the wrong table, one of the other table said it was the wrong item and then I was given the item. It was frustrating that my partner did not get her meal until a later because they had to cook up a new batch which threw off the timing of our meal. When it comes to the food it was pretty good. The egg rolls tasted standard but good – I’m not sure but it seemed like there was some taro in it? For the entrees, my partner had the beef stew which was sweet and fragrant of spices. I chose the Works plate. The pork was good and the meatloaf was good as well. Overall it was a pretty good meal and if I return I would try the banh mi.
