First of the beer. I thought the selection was pretty small for a brewery, but they are still fairly new so not a big deal.
Their west coast IPA I thought it was just okay, nothing that you can't get anywhere else. I also tried the cornucopia- berry weiss and I have to say that I did enjoy that one!
Brussels sprouts appetizer was good, cooked well and the sauce on them was alright. Sadly, that's where the recommendations end. I ordered the Cuban sandwich (pictured) to say ir was bad it's an understatement, it didn't tasted like anything, what looks like cubed potatoes is actually the pork, only had one whole pickle spear in the middle of the sandwich and it wasn't even pressed.
Other people in my table had the cheesesteak sandwich and although I didn't tried it didn't looked good, with only 2 slices of white american(or similar) that wasn't even melted.
Food quality seemed very poor overall, wich is a shame considering how good the place itself actually looks and that beer wasn't bad.
We came the first time on a Thursday and we loved it. The food was so good!
We then made a to go order on Sunday and it was amazing also. I did have to call about the fried pickles we received because they were very spicy and when we ordered them on Thursday they weren't. The manager I talked to was a pleasure to talk to, there was no rudeness or irritation in her voice at all. She had them remade and they aren't spicy this time and just as good as Thursday!! ☺️ I'm surprised we haven't tried coming sooner. I definitely recommend coming for the food!!
I want to love this place. I want to support a local business. But after three tries, we won’t be coming back anytime soon. Each time we have had to wait a very long time to get drink order taken, to get beers delivered to our table and to get our food. Each time we have had multiple things on our food order brought out incorrect, cold food and they have been out of certain menu items. When we have questioned our server about these things this last time, blame was placed on being super busy, despite us noticing not that many tables were full. For what it costs to eat out these days, we won’t be taking our family of 4 back for a long wait and cold incorrect food again.
I want BCBC to be a staple in Baldwin City for a long time to come. However, they're going to have to step up their game or they’ll be closing their doors.
I’ve been to BCBC a few times over the past 3 months and each visit has been disappointing. I’ve had issues with either service, food, beer or a combination of all 3. They’ve had trouble with getting my order entered correctly. The’ve yet to have a full food menu available. I’ve been served cold food 2 out of 3 visits. The beer menu started off ok but now it contains paint marker lines through most of the beer selections. The service I’ve had has been slow and inattentive.
Hopefully they turn things around soon. I’ll try them again but it’s going to be a long time before that happens.
I will start by saying I am a burger guy. I could literally eat them for every meal. I am also very critical of my burgers. My previous #1 favorite held it's spot for many years.....today this changed unexpectedly with the Diablo Burger. I will not describe it, I will just say you must try it! The fries were amazing as well!
I really enjoyed watching the KU Mens Basketball game here. It's a nicely finished space with comfortable seating and lots of televisions for watching the game. Our waitress Ellie was very nice and friendly. She gave us good advice since we've never been here before. The place was pretty full, but not crowded. It took a while to get our food, but that's understandable, considering the crowd. We had chicken wings with sauces on the side for the appetizer. The BBQ sauce was ~really~ good! I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. The food was excellent! You should have lunch here soon!
Absolutely love this place. Really glad Baldwin has such a great spot now. They did an excellent job putting this place together, everything looks great and there is a ton of space inside. Every employee we talked to was awesome and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better place to have a few drinks on New Year's. We will certainly be back soon.
Just tried this place. Lots of space and room to grow here!
We tried the IPA, a Honey Wheat, and the loaded tots (pictured). All were good, and the tots were excellent, mainly because I love the green chili on top and the crispiness of the tots.
Excited to come back and try more food and beers as their beer menu expands.
