Best WLM Reviews
Bean Siam is a place I would gladly revisit and highly recommend to friends and family. The interior is chic and tastefully done. The front of the house, the staff and the open kitchen show that this is well-run operation that comes across as seamless. The acoustics deserve special mention because it allows you to have a conversation without shouting. The food is top notch and I’m glad they kept the spice level of traditional Thai food. Both the Northern Thai pork curry and the Tom Yum fried rice with shrimp were excellent.
We had a great Thai dining experience while exploring DC! We arrived for a Saturday lunch without a reservation and was seated immediately. We noticed the Asian crowd in the restaurant.
The standout dish was definitely the crispy lotus root & grilled shrimp salad, featuring a delightful citrus and peanut sauce that left us thoroughly satisfied. You have to order! The hot & spicy soup also impressed us - we were told it’s not Tom yum but tasted similar. However, the spicy chicken dish didn't quite meet expectations; it’s a good spice level but the vegetables failed to absorb the sauce properly, and the meat was flaky.
The tables were positioned closely together and we had a really loud neighbour, making us feel like we are part of their conversation.
Unlike many Thai restaurants that adapt their flavors to suit American palates by adding extra sweetness, we found Baan Siam to be pretty authentic experience overall.
We didn’t make reservations so we were told to sit ourselves at bar area by the receptionist. Not the best Thai food I have tried but it was said the Top Thai food in The area. The vermicelli with chili peanut sauce I ordered didn’t have strong flavor. I was disappointed. Plain. Coconut ice cream is creative dessert. Salty and sweet mix. Tapioca chicken dumplings appetizer was interesting to try. Bar service was great! Thanks!
This was actually one of the most balanced Thai meals I’ve had in a long time.
The Khao Soi hit the balance between the sweet and savory as one should and extra points for using bone-in chicken! It was delicious. Make it your duty to get the Khao Soi.
Both the green mango salad and beef salads were delightful and filling. Overall, I had a great time here
Nestled in the Mount Vernon Triangle, this Thai restaurant is a hidden gem that promises an authentic culinary journey through Thailand. The menu boasts a diverse selection of Thai dishes, each prepared with precision and a perfect balance of flavors.
One standout starter is the chicken Golden-fried pockets, where the delicate balance of sweet, sour, and spicy creates a symphony for the taste buds. We also ordered Spicy-sweet calamari, which was OK.
As a main course I tried Chicken red curry with chayote, which was delicious but spicy and hot. Comes with jasmine rice and i loved it. She tried the Thai vermicelli in chili peanut sauce, she liked the dish too.
The attentive staff adds to the overall charm, offering recommendations and ensuring every diner feels pampered. Vegetarians will find plenty to savor with options. The portions are generous, making it ideal for one person, but not shareable size.
In summary, Baan Siam excels not only in delivering delectable cuisine but also in creating a memorable dining atmosphere.
Baan Siam never misses!! One of the best spots in DC! Get the Thai vermicelli and thank me later. So good! The golden fried pockets and grilled port skewers are also so good! Always great service!
Such delicious food! I’m a huge fan of Thai food but Baan Siam has some dishes I haven’t seen in other Thai restaurants before.
We started out with the papaya salad which was so light and refreshing. For the entree I got the shrimp chili paste fried rice and got fried chicken to replace the pork belly that normally comes with it. It was amazing! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the rice was so good with a good spice to it. I tried my friends red curry as well which was also delicious. Everyone loved their dishes and we all want to come back to try new things too. It was a great dinner and great meal!
Everything in general are great, it might be a little sad for people who can't take any spice boz most of their spicy dishes are great , but the none spicy foods are great too. Especially the crispy lotus roots & grilled shrimp salad is my favorite appetizer and their curry I must order.
