My Explorer was towed here by Dale's Tow when I ran out of gas. This is my lifeline. He has been patient for me to get the money together. It's hard not having my vehicle to work. In case I can not get the $1000 together, he let me clear out my things, and no one hovered over me to rush the possible mourning I was filling as I cleaned it out.
It’s august, and they’ve had my car since the end of April and have not touched it except to move it around the lot. No communication, can’t get ahold of them, nothing. Don’t take your car here. Spent a lot of money getting it towed to them to be assured it would get done and let them be as to not bug them. And now I have to spend more money getting it towed to another shop without anything being accomplished. Not even the small fixes it needed.
I contacted this business because they were one if the closest places nearby to try and address some problems with my coolant that was burning quickly and a flashing check engine light and the car shaking on and off and randomly losing acceleration. I told them I was an hour and a half from home with my 4 year old and the man who answered stated that he will look into the price of an engine and that would be the most affordable option and get back to me. Without evsn looking at the vehicle. He never returned the call and then when I got it to my own mechanic(thank GOD)90 miles away it was a MUCH cheaper issue and I did NOT need an engine!!!!! Do NOT go here!
First off I want to say the guy was a super nice guy. Now as far as his work: Took my daughters car to they guy for him to "Take a look at". Said it was a $20 lift fee. No problem. I had a miss call from him saying he had it up in the air and he was going to start in on the problem unless I called and told him otherwise. Needless to say it was a bit before I found this out. Problem with the car was shifter housing had came loose. I had told him lets just get that back to normal. After two days he calls and tells me it is fixed. We start talking about price and he says he charges $80/hr and is cheapest in town and it took him 6hrs. Said he had to fabricate something and then welded something, but was all good and would cut me a deal and charge only for 4hrs. Also he talked about a rig job I had did on the car like that held him up for a long time fixing that. 1 Day the car lasted until it broke even worst than when I took it to him. Tried to call him multiple times and no answer. Finally took it to a friends and put it on a lift myself. The man welded something that was not even broken and his "FIX" was a glob of silicone to try and hold a metal stud in place. Me and buddy had it fixed properly in thirty mins and my rigging job that he said took so long was a broke of drill bit and a severed screw. Both still there and neither in the way. Take you business elsewhere.
I verified the cost of a service on my 19 yr old son’s behalf. I was in my car with him when he counted the money out to the agreed upon amount. I had personally given $60 of it to put him at the needed amount. My son picked up the car and once home explained to me that after handing the cash to the owner, he was told that he still owed $60. My son was confused, because he had already counted the money in front of the guy and told him that he’d need $10 in change. The guy even recounted the cash and gave him $10 back. Being young and not thinking to call me, my son gave the guy his debit card. I calthe shop after the fact and explained the situation. After claiming to have and then not have camera footage (conveniently after I said I’d like to see it) and insinuating my son is the dishonest one, it came down to our word against his. We had also had the alternator that was supposed to have been installed in the front floorboard of car that miraculously disappeared before the service was to be done. At the time, I went ahead and paid for a new one to be ordered. But after my son being taken for $60, I can’t help but wonder if the $200+ I paid for another alternator ended up just going into the person’s pocket while the already provided alternator went in the car. The service was done, but business done was shady.
Great service and great people. Helped with the issues we knew about and solved a few we did not and worked with us to make sure we got back on the road at the right price.
In addition, our dog ran off but came back to them, they contacted us and cared for our dog Archie until we were able to return. Thanks so much for proving that there are good people still living and blessing others in this world. Go check them out when you need auto service in Smith County... make them your new trusted friends.
My son and his buddy were nearly 3 hours away from home. Car died on the side of the road in 100 degree weather with heat index of like 102. Someone took one of the boys to get a new alternator and said the guy at the shop would fix it. A 30 minute job and the guy at this shop said to these 2 twenty year old boys " I'm done for the day". REALLY!!! Absolutely, unacceptable. They charged the battery enough to get 3 miles down the road where "Ballenger Auto Repair" was willing to help them.
Had to get Brakes put on Today. This is my first time going to get my Car fixed over there. Barney was very nice and didn't charge a Arm and Leg. So I gave Him 5 stars. Thank you.
