Best WLM Reviews
Ázuma Japanese restaurant .The service is as charming as it gets – picture a smiling waiter always ready to top up your rice or soup, making you feel pampered and cared for.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the grilled fish. It's not just right; it's a symphony of flavors that transport you to Japan with each bite. The authenticity here is unbeatable, making every dish a delightful adventure for your taste buds.
But what truly steals the show is the cozy atmosphere that turns every meal into a cherished family moment. This place isn't just about food; it's about creating memories over delicious dishes and heartfelt conversations.
In a nutshell, this Japanese restaurant isn't just a dining spot; it's a delicious journey into tradition and hospitality. You'll leave with a full belly, a happy heart, and a craving to come back for more.
I wanted to love this hole in the wall Japanese spot. The portions are borderline grotesque large (bang for your buck I guess), but the food itself had some misses. The potato croquettes were pretty good, and the chicken katsu curry generally had a good taste, but the curry itself had chunks of chicken that were so overcooked that I felt like I was chewing dissolving erasers. My friend’s teriyaki chicken was similar in that it tasted good, but was mostly over burned. The staff was hustling and were nice, albeit straight to the point.
Favorite Japanese restaurant. The beef teriyaki is basically a steak, perfectly seared with a good amount of fat. Tempura was crunchy and massive. The whole combination plate was actually huge. The chicken skewers were also very good.
This place is on the pricier end, but the portion sizes and quality make it worth it. I will be coming back.
Glad this place reopened after the fire, waited 2 decades to eat back at this place in Gardena and did not dissapoint. Had to wait awhile outside since our reservation was a bit messed up but they did their best to sit us when space was available. A bit noisy but expected at a popular restaurant, the food speaks for itself. Had three combo dinners for each of us, the Tempura/sashimi, the Black cod/Sashimi and the Tonkatsu/sashimi and the portions were enough for some to take home. Luckily scored the last two bottles of Orion Beers (iykyk) that made this last meal in Cali one of the best. 5 stars, ill be sure to be back when in the area????????
Been coming here for years and it the most perfect little place ! U always order the Steak and Sashimi dinner plate with a side crocket! It’s to die for! Forever my favorite place to dine the atmosphere is great not too loud low music playing in the back ground and sitting at the bar is my favorite.
Hidden gem in LA. Recommend the steak (beef teriyaki) and sashimi combo (the steak is the star ????)
Friday night dinner and it was busy. It’s a very small dining area.
We ordered badly.
We should have just ordered the teriyaki plate and shared it. Things we ordered were not as we expected them to be.
Eggplant were small and tasted different and had flakes of seafood on top. Did not taste good. The tofu in a soupy broth was better but mushy. The mushrooms were stiff and almost tasted burnt. The dumplings were a bit bland but the chicken teriyaki plate was excellent and I would come back and just order that next time. Good value and great flavors and selection of everything. Enough to probably share between two people.
Overall it was expensive for what we got.
Good, but one-and-done. Was nice to try but no burning desire to return.
They have an extensive Japanese menu, but no sushi.
