We were due to fly out of Rapid City at 7AM on February 8, 2024 so called Aviation Parking & Storage before leaving (2.5 hour drive) the previous day to learn protocol for parking there during our absence. There was no answer & I asked to be called back as I had questions. Fast forward 2.5 hours and no call back so we decided to stop. Nobody answered the door so we went yo the parking area. Instructions stated to fill out a “form” & put in the provided envelope along with payment. There was no “form” and there but there was two envelopes, which I didn’t pick up at the time. I sent a text saying there were no forms and only two envelopes. That evening I put my name, address, phone number & left a place for the lot I was parking in blank to add when parked along WTH the dates the car would be parked, a run down of fees owed and cash in the amount. I also listed the make, model, year of vehicle and license plate number. Got there in the morning, added the lot number & put the paper in the envelope with the money & put it in the drop box. Airport shuttle was there waiting & I left for the airport without a response. Arrived back in RAP, got in the car & drove off still not getting a response from the owner. I wish Jusy was still there. She was great. This owner, not so much for communication but at least the car was still there & in the same condition as it was left when we returned on February 17. I’ll use this place again but will not expect communication from the owner to “fix” missing forms or envelopes for outside parking. Be sure to take paper & envelopes with you in case they aren’t replenished!
Stromers/Aviation Parking and Storage is a perfect place to store your vehicle. We stored our Camper van ( 20’) all summer. It’s reasonably priced and it was a plus that we could store it inside. Brook was easy to work with and he was kind enough to start the engine for us to verify upon our arrival that we were ready to go. You would be hard pressed to find a more convenient location if your flying into or out of the Rapid City Airport.
Update: he got gravel for the road so it is much smoother now!
Much cheaper than the airport, by far. The road to get there really needs some attention
Terrible customer service. Don't park here! This is coming from a local resident! They will triple charge your credit card. The fee to park with triple charge and transportation almost twice as much as simply parking in the long-term parking at the airport for 6 days. I have been trying to get this resolved for 6 weeks, even providing the credit Card statements. Their mailbox is full, no one will ever answer the phone, no one at the place of business who will answer the door and get messages of" I will look into it today and get you an answer". This still has not happened.
Terrible, frustrating service. We rented a storage unit over the winter and have repeatedly tried to call to cancel our storage because we no longer use it and we get a voicemail that tells us to text to get faster service. We have sent many text letting them know that we are no longer using the locker but we continue to get billed on our visa. My Visa card cannot stop a merchant from drawing payment. I can dispute it but the storage facility does not answer the disputes so they continue to charge my visa. The only way out of them charging my visa I have been told is to cancel my card and get a new Visa card.
We have even stopped over there and left written messages on their door. It’s such a shame because
it was very convenient to the Airport.
I have been calling and texting since May. Still no response. Sure miss Judy, the original owner who always answered promptly. Don't know how they are still in business now
Took 5 hours to get a response via text asking about indoor parking availability. Once I got a response, said he would call in two hours with a garage number. Never got the call. Called and text again with no response. Showed up in the morning, still no response at the office door. Called the shuttle for a ride, w never answered, while being on the call for 20 minutes.
I'm a contractor and left my truck there. Now I'm pretty stressed that there's no response by either returned phone calls or texts. I'm going to have to Fed Ex my keys back to get my truck moved out he may have it towed for non payment. There's no way to pay it.. I'm extremely upset that this is happening. I may have to fly back just to remove my vehicle.
