I recently took my wife and daughter to Avalas salon for haircuts with Cathy, one of their fantastic stylists. They both received a wash, cut, blowout, and styling. The salon has a wonderful ambiance with friendly staff and impeccable cleanliness. Cathy's expertise and skill truly shone through in the results – both my wife and daughter were thrilled with their new looks. I highly recommend Avalas salon to anyone in search of a quality haircut experience. It's a place where you'll not only leave looking great but feeling great too.
Absolutely phenomenal experience today! As someone with naturally curly hair, finding a stylist who truly understands how to work with my curls has always been a challenge.
Catherine not only listened attentively to my preferences but also provided expert advice on how to enhance the natural beauty of my curls with the right product cocktail. Her skillful cutting technique brought out the best in my curls, creating a shape that complements my features perfectly.

I recently visited Avalas Salon with high hopes for a fresh, layered haircut with face-framing. Unfortunately, my experience was disheartening. Initially, the haircut looked right but as my hair dried, the haircut I received was a disaster. The layers in front lack the seamless graduation I anticipated, and the face-framing is not face-framing. It is a shelf. This has caused me a great deal of distress. A salon should do better. Also, Catherine had zero business cutting my hair in the first place. She shouldn’t cut any hair. This would have been a disaster on straight hair too. The silver lining, I know to never get a haircut from a salon that does not specialize in curly hair. I urge Avalas Salon to address these issues and ensure that their stylists can deliver on their client's requests and if they can not, inform the client so that they do not spend money on a job that could have been done better if they did it themselves…which I have!

After posting my initial review, I was contacted by Avengeli, the owner of Avalas Salon. While she expressed regret over my experience, her response was mixed. She apologized but also implied that my dissatisfaction might be due to my perception, suggesting it was influenced by how my hair was parted. This overlooked the issues with the haircut, which were evident regardless of hair texture or parting. It was a bad haircut that appeared to be maliciously done.
In our conversation, Avengeli sought sympathy by highlighting her own challenges, including feeling unwell and the effort she's put into her salon. While I understand running a business is demanding, this approach felt like an attempt to divert attention from the core issue: the quality of the service provided.

The owner "Vangi" offered a refund and then proposed products as an incentive to remove my review. This interaction added to my disappointment, demonstrating a concerning approach to handling criticism—seemingly more focused on getting rid of negative feedback than genuinely addressing my experience. She should have validated my experience. Full Stop.

I am back after about a month and today I thought I would straighten my hair. To my surprise, it looks worse straightened. I think Catherine from Avalas Salon knew what she was doing. This doesn't look like an accident. ???? I can't wait to have my haircut in 5 months by a real professional. One who does the Diametrix cut and/or Ouidad. Otherwise, I will cut it myself. ????

I just realized something. Catherine never pumped the chair up for me to see what she was doing, which I find quite concerning. It feels like there may have been some underlying intentions there. I’m not sure why Catherine would act this way towards me. It seems like Catherine’s intent was to undermine my self-confidence, which says more about her than me. My hair will grow back, but happiness isn’t built on bringing others down. Her behavior was subtly mean and petty, and it’s unfortunate because it’s hard to feel sorry for someone like that. I’m not sharing this to damage her reputation or the salon’s; I just think people should be aware to avoid a similar experience. Many specialists at Avalas Salon are maybe fantastic, however, since my concerns weren’t really addressed, perhaps it’s wise to be cautious about choosing any specialist at Avalas Salon.
Catherine is an incredibly talented stylist who consistently exceeds expectations. Her attention to detail and skillful techniques always result in fabulous hair transformations. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch stylist!
My wife goes to Avalas Salon and she loves it! She has been going since her stylist, Catherine, transferred to the salon last year. She has been a client of Catherine for many years, since moving to the area from NJ. She is a regular and gets her hair done several times a month. As a customer with greying hair that was damaged, going from long hair to a short pixie cut back to long hair, now healthy we are both overjoyed with the results! Catherine pays attention to the hair needs of her clients and is always a professional! We both highly recommend both Avalas Salon and her stylist, Catherine! She is already looking forward to her next appointment!
