Best WLM Reviews
One of the last greatest old fashioned vw shops left in the southbay great place to take your old vw .
I've known Randy & Robert since the early 1970s. Had my '67 bus motor rebuilt there. Sold my bus in the early 80s, but kept the motor, and installed it in my '68 beetle. I installed new heads at approximately 100k after losing a valve seat ... sold the beetle in the late 80's with 175k miles on the lower end.
Randy rebuilt the transaxle for my SWB Porsche 911 back in the 80's, still running strong 40 years later.
Recently had the tired 1.9L motor from my '84 Vanagon Westfalia rebuilt there. Original miles were about 170k and it sucked a valve. Randy recommended building it up to a 2.1L, and what a difference that made. They also installed a Go-Westy lift kit, and replaced all fuel & vacuum hoses at that time.
They conduct such a great business that there IS a waiting list, but it's worth the wait if you have the time.
Randy is one of the most knowledgeable VW mechanics around, had my van back to tip top shape in no time. Guys are respectful, clean, and do an amazing job and I am absolutely a return customer. Cheers

Stopped in because I spied 2 356s and some buses and I have to check out the action we don't see alot in Michigan
I've been to several shops around town and how good they are depends on their current mechanics. The quality is hit and miss at those other places depending on who is working on your car. The stability of Randy and Robert make this place work because you know that you are going to get the job done right.
Randy and his team are the best in town! They are reliable, and can fix anything. They have built motors for me, and helped me maintain my 1969 and 1965 Karmann Ghia. There's not a lot of good mechanics around.. Randy is the best, hands down!
I'm from New Hampshire and found my self in the LA area with an over heating 1987 vanagon. While trying to find a shop I stumbled across Auto-Meister and let me tell you I couldn't have been luckier. Although there was a wait to get my van in (about 2 weeks) it was worth every second. Randy is very honest and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the old VW systems. I would drive across the country again just to have him service my van. Great conversation too very down to earth, and willing to take the time to explain everything that he did. Couldn't be more grateful.
