I went on Friday to get wet n wavy micro braids. Was told to purchase the hair. Spent $100 got their was told could not use the hair. Decided to use their hair and pay $200. Took 6 1/2 hours looked good when i left of course felt tight. The next day i started loosing braids(not to mention my hair is shoulder length long) By Tuesday a third of my braids had come out. I text and called and was finally told it would be fixed Friday 5/3/24. When i called Friday i was given nothing but lies and my hair was never fixed. Had to take the remainder braids out. The most UNPROFESSIONAL braid shop in Raleigh NC
They advantage of my mother-in-law. She went in the day before and spoke face to face with the owner who quoted her $65.00 for kinky twists that barely touch her shoulders. She brought her own hair. There was no wash or any other service other than my mother-in-law getting her hair twisted. After they were done, they told her it was $165 - more than double they quoted her. And then they even denied that they quoted her $65 the day before. My mother-in-law had interviewed other salons the same day she interviewed this one. They lied to her, and the in the end she was not happy with how they styled her hair. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My mother-in-law paid them but left feeling like Shen had been conned and she was very upset over this for several days after going to them.
I asked for small Knotless and they gave me Jumbo, Medium braids in the far back - I shouldve checked the back before I left - but one thing is for sure I will not be returning. The first time I went I paid $190 for small Knotless and they were small front and medium parts in the back. I think this time they were tired - baby was crying and one is pregnant - That is ok! But do not overcharge your fellow African sister that tips really well. I braid my own hair too - I was just looking to get it done quicker & Don’t be lazy with repeat customers! The loyalty is not there and they did not remember me lol - I still paid $220 CASH and I texted the phone number to say how mad I was. No Response. YOU will never get another coin from me. MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE BACK of your head before you walk out.
Kadijah was very nice and beyond accommodating. I had to leave for a little while and she waited on me to come back to finish my hair. She also made sure along the way that the style wasn't too tight. All of the ladies are very friendly in this shop.
Unfortunately, I’m only giving them 1 star because they took me as a walk-in client plus the braids themselves weren’t ugly. However, 7 whole hours in a African braid shop for medium sized box braids is crazy. African braid shops are known for being fast (3-5 max). Mind you, there were 3 people braiding my hair at one point. The braids were wayyy smaller than the medium size I requested and were outrageously tight. There were so many braids, I couldn’t put my hair in a ponytail or bun at any point. I even had to re-dip them and my whole head in warm water when I got home for some type of scalp pain relief. I couldn’t feel my scalp or sleep for the next couple days so I took them out on day 3. My scalp is still sore and the braids are all out now. I’m NOT tender headed. They were that tight. No exaggeration. $250 down the drain. You live and you learn. There’s no way this shop cares for the health of anyone’s hair. Won’t be returning.
Superb experience! I got butt length, small box braids and it did not take long at all. The ladies were so nice and made sure I was comfortable. The braids in the back/middle were the same size as the front, too! I will definitely be returning! I’d recommend anyone to come here! 10/10 experience.
I found this braiding shop after a scheduled appointment canceled. They were able to schedule me the same day. They worked fast, great customer service. My small knotless are beautiful. I will be back!
Make sure you call and confirm. I dropped my children off at drop in care. Waisted 15min of my time and gas just to get here for them to tell me oh I have to wait another hour or longer because the owner forgot to call them and remind them they had someone coming. I called a hour ahead just so I don’t run into this issue. SMH
