It isn’t everyday that you get to eat at an establish that has been around for 31 years. Aunt Bea did the cooking and I can’t help but think of grandma’s cooking. I hope you get to enjoy it before she hangs up the name.
Amazing soul food all made fresh and love into the food! I’ve been coming here for decades since my son was little and would clear his plate plus my sis plus my leftovers! I love her breakfast meals! I love getting her vegetable platters and the chicken oh my!!!
This Cafe was AMAZING! I am from the south and grew up on southern cuisine! Aunt Bea outdoes herself! Yeah felt like I was back home! We will be returning and let me tell you what…. That sweet tea???? this southern gal loved the collards and enjoyed washing them down with some real sweet tea! Everything was authentic and so delicious! Felt like I was back in my grandmama’s kitchen! A must go to for soul food! Cause this hit my soul! Amen! And Amen!
No words to describe this establishment except OUTSTANDING. The food, and the svc was impeccable. Aunt Beas hospitality was beyond measure, she is a lovely person with a good heart.
I have been going to this gem of a restaurant for years. All the food is cooked to order, and all homemade. Everything on the menu is amazing, but my most favorite is the veggie platter. I always get mashed potatoes and gravy, turnip greens, black-eyed peas, fried okra, and hot water cornbread. Unsweetened tea to drink. And Aunt Bea is the absolute sweetest and takes pride in her cooking and knowing what her regulars like and actually remember for years when you walk in the door what you're going to order. Best place to go for an amazing home cooked meal. And don't forget her homemade dessert! You won't be disappointed.
Such an place to be and the food is amazing
First things first, as soon as I walked through the front door Bea looked at me and looked away without speaking. When she realized I may have been there to actually get food she finally decided to ask if I needed to see a menu. I immediately noticed her tone of voice with her assistant was less than kind. I actually ONLY stuck around to see if her interactions with this young lady improved. Sadly they did not.
Once she realized that I was observing everything transpiring, Bea tried to speak in a lower, more stern tone to this young lady.
However, knowing Bea since I was a child, I was keenly aware that she was still being snippy and rude to the young lady named Michelle-- whom has obvious special needs. It was difficult listening to her ordering Michelle around and Michelle responding so respectfully; calling Bea ma'am. They disappeared in the back room for quite awhile so I can only presume Michelle was being reprimanded for something slight.
TBH, I would not allow Bea to prepare me a grain of rice. Food handling, storage and safety are questionable at best. She needs to invest in some paid staff as well as cleaning products. Most importantly, she needs to invest in an attitude adjustment because the way I witnessed her speak to and interact with her 'help' was so disgusting I left without food.
Aunt B's with very good very friendly atmosphere all minorities black should be patronizing at the restaurant to keep the establishment open
