Not often do I make a point to leave a review. But anytime there is 5 star service and 5 Star quality food you don’t often get the Places deserves the recognition. For being a chain restaurant you often don’t find yourself amazed by the food and the service. Had a new menu item that we got the pleasure of trying. The new hand breaded chicken sandwich is worth trying out you will be pleasantly surprised
We were staying in Jacksonville for the night. Applebee's was convenient to our hotel. It was mid-week and not busy. We were greeted right away, but there was a very funny, unappetizing smell, like dead seafood, permeating the entire place. Other than that, the place seemed clean, though well used. The waitress was nice. We ordered the 2 for $30 6 oz top sirloin dinners. Got our salads right away. Bowls filled to the top with iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, and croutons (house salad). My husband said his tasted like soap. The steaks were tender with good portions of potatoes and fresh broccoli. I had to give an overall of 3 stars due to the bad smell of the place. It did affect my meal a bit. This is my honest review. I'll also show pics of the menu we had for the last week of June 2023.
The food was surprisingly good. Steaks were cooked perfect. Need more side options but service and atmosphere was good.
Immediately upon arriving we were greeted with a smile! We were taken to a booth and our waitress came over to get our drinks. It seemed to be a steady flow of people dining there and our waitress was still attentive and very kind!
Towards the end of our meal, a very kind woman (a member of management) came out to ask how our meal had been. She asked if there was anything she could get us. I was very surprised at how great things were and will definitely be returning!!!
Karley was our waitress and was not pleasant she seem to have an attitude. The waitress personal life shouldn't effect her approach to a table. She messed our drinks up 2x times . The food was mediocre. And the dark headed waitress had an attuide . More smiles would make a better impression
First experience walked in and was told to sit wherever. We sat at a booth for over 45 minutes and was never so much as offered drinks or menu. Even after trying to flag down a couple waitresses. We finally left out of aggravation. Understandable if busy but they place was practically empty.
Second experience (also not busy) food took forever to come out. Steaks came out over cooked they tasted good though. Ordered cheesy broccoli and it came out raw and cold. Mac and cheese was very bland. Then waited over 30 minutes for the check to be brought to us after being finished eating and stacking up plates. Will not be going back.
Food was great. Steak was perfectly cooked and juicy. Waitress checked on us just enough. Even blended up my drink to make it a slushy.
This is our go to place to have dinner on our nights out. Food is always perfectly cooked & amazing. The manager Corey always makes sure you have everything you need, always goes above & beyond. The staff is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. We will most certainly be back again & again!
