This is my second time trying Apolis, my first time dining in, and I will always come back for the skepasti! The kebab is my personal favorite, however both times I ordered it half if each quarter didn’t have any meat. I think, especially for the high price being charged for street food, there should be a generous amount of protein in each bite! The flavor is delicious nonetheless and the staff is so friendly! We were a group of 6 and paid over $200 for reference. The man at the register, Im not sure if he was the owner, was so kind in accommodating us and even gave us some dessert at the end of our meal. I love that everything is open and you can see your meal being made. Our chairs and the highchair were a little sticky and could use a scrub-down, otherwise everything looked clean.
First time here and I fell in love!
Reminds me so much of the little Greek deli and store back home in Oregon State.
The food was excellent, I took a friend with me for her first bite of Greek food and she is now a convert.
I had what they called a street wrap, which was a gyros and my friend ordered a build your own pita. We shared some Greek fries.
This is definitely a place I will hit up every time I'm in the town of Lyle.
As a side note it's in a little strip mall and during peek hours parking can be hard to find.
You simply won't find better Greek cuisine in the entire area! The lamb chops are out of this world, and my husband can't help but order half the menu every time we visit. From the moment we step through the door, we're greeted with the warmest smiles and heartfelt hellos. The food is always exceptionally fresh, bursting with flavor, and made to perfection. Every meal here is an unforgettable experience!
Stopped in for a pita and salad. The service was good. They have many choices of proteins, vegetables and sauces to choose from . We chose the beef and lamb pita and beef and lamb salad. We asked for one to have the Mediterranean spicy cilantro and the other tzatziki sauces on the side. I loved the green spicy cilantro sauce but there wasn't any heat, not spicy but it had great flavors. The tzatziki sauce was just ok. The meat was a good flavor but a little dry. I would have liked it more moist. They help you build your salads and pitas in four steps which makes it easy to order. Pricing was a little high for the sizes of the meals. They serve Pepsi products. I would recommend them for a decent pita and salad. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive and get it, but if in the neighborhood it would be an option.
Authentic Greek food, warm atmosphere with Greek music playing and very friendly staff. Walls are painted with Greek scenes. The food is delicious!
Was in Chicago yesterday for some client visits. Was with our 2 local sales guys, both Chicago natives. One of them insisted on this place for lunch. I have to say, it was one of the best, if not *the* best, gyros I've ever had in my life. My companions raved about what they had. I've eaten all across this great country - Honolulu to Los Angeles to Dallas to Tulsa to New York to many, many more - this mom and pop, authentic Greek family spot is the real deal. Delicious.
I stopped in Apolis for lunch. It has been several years since I was here. The service was great and they have a large variety of options. The prices were on the higher side for the food compared to similar in the area. The beef lamb was missing flavor but overall the meal was good. Next time I will try the chicken.
Wish the servers were more friendly. They were frowning the whole time we were there wish they smiled or were more welcoming. Food tasted really good and the place had a cool aesthetic to it with Greek music playing in the background.
