Amakai is located in the small strip right before mission college. Parking might be tough during peak hours and the spots are pretty tight
It is a small sushi restaurant that gives good enough quality sushi.
We ordered 8-9 rolls for 7 males and it was pretty filling. However the fish didn’t taste as fresh. A lot of the rolls depended highly on the sauces to compensate for the quality of fish.
Service was chill and nice as well. They helped refill our water and tea every so often and took away our plates when the table was getting full.
Overall nice chill sushi restaurant
The food and experience at Amakai was very enjoyable. While I thought it was a little expensive for what I received the staff was very friendly and checked out the experience multiple times. The signature Amakai roll was definitely a highlight of the meal.
The food was delicious and prepared quickly. The staff is nice, and although the restaurant is small, it’s a clean and a great place.
Great sushi at a fair price. Ordered the Kubo, Orange Blossom, Spicy Unagi, Tiger, and White Dragon. The Tiger was my favorite, a very well balanced roll with the perfect amount of spice. Photographed are the CA roll and Kubo, Tiger, and Orange Blossom rolls. Will definitely visit again to bring friends and family when I’m showing people around the area!

Great spot for some delicious and fresh sushi. The staff are friendly and helpful. I appreciate the wide variety of food that is offered.
Food was disgusting rice tasted like day old rice! I’ve been to a lot of shushi places in throughout the Bay Area and I give my honest review this place has been the worst by far. While waiting I notice the person preparing shushi was wearing gloves while eating then wipes his mouth didn’t change gloves and started preparing another persons order! To say the least I’ll never come back here again
