My first time here so I tried the chicken livers along with son to check it out and give them a try. They were good, and the sides were ok, but weren't anything special. My fiancee said her meal was ok, but wasn't that impressed. Noticed they had some good daily special's that maybe worth trying, so I'll give it another go when I get back that way one day.
Food was a little slow coming out, but understandable - it was Sunday lunch and only a couple girls handling it. But food was great, fried stuff was amazing. Frogs legs were good. We'll be coming back on buy one, get one burger night (Thursdays!) and all you can eat catfish night (Fridays!).
This place a year ago was amazing. I would go at least 3 times a week. Over the past few months the food and service has steadily declined dramatically. Sides are always cold and even the main dishes aren't the same as original. Everything has changed for the worse. My visit Saturday was the last time I will go, I will no longer recommend as I use to. So sad to see the owners let it go so fast. They had a good thing, I guess their heart isn't in it anymore.
First time dining here. Service was friendly and restaurant was clean. However, country fried steak was way overcooked, black Eyed Peas were mush & mashed potatoes were instant! My husband's spaghetti was also mushy. Seemed like everything was left over from lunch so maybe it's better around lunch time. We are around 5:30. We were not impressed.
The burgers were small but had a good taste. The potato wedges were good also. Real friendly folks and they took good care of us. We may try some of their all you eat specials on the next trip.
Frog legs and fried green tomatoes were outstanding! My husband and I plan a return visit very soon. A good friend told us about how good it was. Service was very good also. We highly recommend it.
They have fantastic catfish. Great staff and great service. Reasonably priced. Pretty good fried green tomatoes. If you want some home style southern food, this is the place to go to.
Great little hometown diner. There are 7 of us in my family and Almost Famous always is happy when come in. After our 2nd time the staff remembered us, and after the 3rd they know our orders. My oldest daughter is "special" and always wants a grilled chicken salad no bacon, our server now comes to the table and says I've already got her salad in, what does everyone else what tonight? It's WONDERFUL!!
