Best WLM Reviews
The place was very busy so I was excited to try them.
I got doubles and aloo pie.
I waited 40 minutes because they were making it fresh and were busy as can be.
Unfortunately, the doubles had channah(chic pea) in it that was not cooked through and had a hard bite to it. I thought maybe it was only one, But every doubles we had were the same.
The service is great and the ladies at the counter are fast and attentive.
The place itself has only 2 small chairs to sit so if you are waiting be prepared to stand if the 2 chairs are taken.
I will try them again in the future because I think its a mistake due to how busy they were. B+ for now.
Great food. We ordered the chicken and goat buss ups and omg , we couldn't have enough. The spinach and chick peas side were lightly season and so delicious also that side tortilla like made the food overall just good. Food was just right very filling and not heavy, felt healthy. Our first time trying here and will definitely come back when we visit Brooklyn. They only take cash and only do take out, but overall great customer service. The front lady was very welcoming and friendly to talk to. Love the food. Keep it up y'all ☺️.
Loved the roti here. Usually veggie roti is lame and only has Chickpeas and potatoes in it but this was one of the best I’ve had! I almost forgot to take a photo, but you can see it’s really full with a lot of variety in the vegetables. Next time I’ll order with extra pumpkin because I heard someone do that after me, and hadn’t even realized it was an option. I’ll be back often!
I normally don’t leave reviews but after my experience today I had to. I have been a customer and supported this restaurant since they opened and when then moved, that’s years of support. I went there today and ordered a SHRIMP ROTI and was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. The roti was dry and had no gravy and very little shrimp for $15. I called the restaurant to see if this could be rectified and handled professionally but instead, I was even more DISAPPOINTED WITH THE DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE that was displayed during call. I informed the lady of my issue with my order and instantly she began speaking very RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. She then stated that if I want gravy I should’ve asked. She said you have to asked for everything when you order your ROTI and that never happened in the past, and if policies changed she could’ve explained instead SHE WAS YELLING. SHE DISPLAYED HORRIBLE CUSTOMER AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME. This BEHAVIOR should never be displayed in a place of business. And as a customer if these are the type of people you have running your establishment you will continue to lose valuable customers as myself.
Amazing food, definitely one of the best Trinidadian places in the city! It seems like a family runs the place, and they were all so kind. I wish there was seating, but still it’s a great to-go place. I highly recommend the doubles and the roti! The prices were also amazing for the huge amount of food you get.
They closed the shop earlier because they got sold out at 7:15pm! Tip from the last lady entering: reserve by phone for pickup. We arrived exactly at closure and the lady at the door offered us the last 2 doubles for free! That was an amazing and tasty gesture!♥️ We will be coming back!
I bought 6 doubles ($2 each), 1 alou pie ($2 each) and 1 pholourie ($2 each) as well as a roti with curry chicken ($11). This came $32.00 and I'm not sure why that was even with tax ($27 plus tax) as I ordered it directly at the take out restaurant so no delivery fees. The alou pie was not included when I was able to unpack the bag at home.
I traveled quite some distance to go here (and this was my first experience here) and I may not repeat the experience due to what I explained above.
Taste wise the Doubles were pretty good. I didn't love the pholourie but that's my fault. I wasn't sure what exactly that was when I ordered. The roti with curry chicken was good.
EDIT: Thank you for offering to correct the matter. I will try to make a trip over this weekend. I will probably buy more doubles (and finally get that alou pie) so the refund will go right back into your restaurant.
My partner and i are fully addicted. Great cheap food and friendly atmosphere. They’re cash only but have an ATM. Definitely be prepared to wait 10-20 mins for your food, but it’s worth it!!!
