I usually do not leave public reviews but I had to leave this one. I came in & made an appointment and showed a picture of what I wanted. Before starting my hair, Nassi asked to see the picture three times so I assumed she was braiding the size that I showed her and for the price I was given. My braids are huge and nothing like the size I asked for. I WILL NEVER RETURN. The more I’m looking at my hair the more I do not like it. Maybe if she wasn’t on the phone the whole time she could have paid attention and got the sizes right.
Made an appointment for Saturday at 1:30 and the lady didn’t show up. At 3pm I decided to leave and reschedule for the next day at 10am. To only my surprise I get there and the lady isn’t there - she arrives an hour later with Dunkin’ Donuts like it was no big deal UNPROFESSIONAL. I asked for BOHO and before she tells me she can’t do the style she does this. And at first she tried to charge $220 no INCLUDING the price for hair and so GRACIOUSLY dropped it down $190 with hair fee. When I looked at the hair ???????? she only fed the hair through the top that was it, she didn’t even dip or trim it! I was there from 10-5pm. My girl was chomping and taking break after break. SAVE YOUR MONEY YOU HEAR DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Take the train to 125th and catch someone who knows how to braid and wants to work. The woman at this shop- hard pass.
The owner of this store is rude and intimidates her clients. She doesn't take any form of payment other than cash so make sure you know where an ATM is. I didn't have any cash so I had to look around for an ATM but didn't know where it was so I took longer than normal to come back. I had actually left my things in the salon so she would know I would come back and wasn't going to take off. She called me threatening to call the police on me! Who doesn't have digital forms of payment in 2023? Many people don't carry cash anymore, lady!
I went to get cornrows for my birthday and I showed the owner the style I wanted exactly and asked if she can do it and she replied yes. I wanted a heart on the side but what I got instead was not a heart. And when I went the next day the lady was the not there and when I showed someone else it she responded that there wasn’t anything wrong with it. Plus I was told to come at 6 pm but I did not start to get my hair done until 7:20pm
This morning was my first time coming to the shop after hearing about it from my cousin. My stylist, who I forgot to get the name of, was so sweet. She was very open about the difference between the style I wanted versus the style that I got, which are knotless box braids. She’s so knowledgeable about the different styles & the benefits of each one. Along with being kind, she was really professional & managed her time very well. She’s honest about the pricing; you very much are paying for what you get. Post the braids being done, she took even more time to dip my hair & apply products that will keep my hair lasting for a while. My appointment was for first thing in the morning, which I recommend highly. The shop itself was really clean & everything was in order; no hair on the floor, scraps, or anything of the source. I am really happy to have finally found a braid shop that crosses everything off on my list!
Don’t waste your money time and hairline. I showed her the picture of what I wanted. She had no idea how to do it. Put braids in my hair when I had bought my own. She literally yelled at me and insisted on the horrific styling after I told her I wasn’t happy (Nassi or whatever). These ladies need training on braiding and customer service! Never again!!! Stay away!!!
Late review but anyhoo i got my hair done in October. Made an appointment for 10 am on a Sunday morning and did not get my hair started until 1 pm. They lied and said that they open at 10 n if so how come someone was there before me. The taller woman did my hair and is very disgusting n had no manners. She was chewing her gum like a cow wearing no face mask n plus sneezed and didn’t wash her hands! She kept pausing and using her phone. I was there from 10-6pm. Very unprofessional and i will never go there again.
The first 2 times I had gone were fine..when I let a lady other than the owner & Aimee braid my hair I haven't been back since. My edges still haven't grown back 1 year later. I went back the next day because I wasn't satisfied and the owner tried to redo telling me nothing was wrong but clearly if you're getting your hair braided and gripping on the seat while it's being braided, it's too tight. I don't understand the point of making appointments when they make you wait so long for a mediocre job. I'm so glad I have found the young lady who used to braid my hair before coming here.
