I washed my own hair, i got cornrows , paid $50. I am satisfied.
The stylist Ann, who did my hair was fast, neat, understood the assignment. She cornrowed my hair exactly like the picture I showed her and the price was fair for the style. I'm definitely coming back in the future for myself and my daughter. And she's not a heavy handed braider. The only improvement that I would recommend is that they answer their phone more often during the week so that customers can book appointments. It took me a week to book an appointment for my daughter and I notice they only seem to answer the phone on Saturdays.
First time visiting…was pleased when I walked in, it wasn’t crowded like most braiding shops I’ve gone to in the past. It was intimate, with 4 styling stations, a reception desk, one shampoo bowl, 2 hooded dryers, bathroom and a seated reception area. I only wanted my natural hair cornrowed - which was done in less than an hour. Before I left, I learned that Janna the owner/manager was from Senegal - I was excited to speak to her in Wolof (Senegalese language), which shocked her and made her so happy. As I left I thanked her and told her I’d see her again soon in Wolof.
I have been going to this salon for years AND I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK. I booked an appointment for 2 feed in cornrows with Drea- should be easy and quick. Well, when I got there, the person working had no idea who I was and my name was not in the appointment book. Finally my Stylist comes in almost an hour late. She did apologize, but c'mon! She then proceeded to do the most horrible 2 braids I have ever had. They were uneven, she didnt use enough hair at the ends and didnt do any edges. I had an event to go to (which was the reason I was getting the quick style) so I just paid and left. The very next morning, the entire thing was coming out at the ends and my hair was sticking out the sides. It looks like I had them for weeks. I tried to fix it because I had another event the next day - but was only able to keep them a total 3 days! Then when I tried to call back and speak to the owner - she was NEVER there and none of the employees know how to reach you and are unable to take a message. I left a voice mail message and have NEVER heard back.
There are too many other Braiding salons in the DMV. DO NOT GO TO THIS ONE!!!!
Stop speaking in the African language with each other about your customers. I clearly knew you were talking about me. Stop being rude and unprofessional; you're not offering voluntary service. If a customer requests a specific service, try your best to provide what the customer wants, not what you want!
Today, I arrived at the shop @ 10:45am and I was serviced immediately. There was NO wait the treatment, and the environment was exceptional!!! I ask the stylist not to braid too tight and she immediately accommodated me. The finish product has excel my expectations. Thanks Ladies YOU ROCK! The service was 5 Stars
