Best WLM Reviews
I had a lunch and brunch at this cafe/bar on Michigan Ave not far from Millennium Park. The garlic sauce Caesar Salad with salmon was quite tasty but very light on everything except the huge amount of lettuce. May not suit a big person with a big appetite. I still enjoyed it and went back for buttermilk pancakes and hot chocolate the day before the marathon. Again quite tasty. Staff were pleasant. There is both indoor and outdoor seating
We went for the Fever, Eat in the Dark experience and it was amazing. From the moment we walk in, the staff were as excited about the experience as we were. We were provided a blind fold, a 3 course meal, and attentive staff through the night. Our experience lasted about an hour and a half. The menu included a meat, seafood, and vegetarian option. We were encouraged to eat with our other senses and it felt great!!!! After each course, we guessed what we were served and then were told about the dish. Such a great experience, I definitely would do it again and recommend it to everyone! Try it!!!
This place was great! It has an awesome location. Right on Michigan avenue. It's the restaurant to the Hotel Julian. Our bartender Yoli was wonderful . We really enjoyed our time. Will definitely come back. We only had drinks but they also served food. they also have charge outlets at the bar!
My husband and I were out for cocktails and decided to grab a bite to eat.
I will start by saying we dined during restaurant week and our server was Clara.
The first strike was seating us all the way in the back by the kitchen.
Unfortunately, our server seemed preoccupied with who know what, the restaurant wasn't busy enough for the staff to have an underlining confusion of how to operate this restaurant.
We were served other patrons food, the bills were confused. I had to hunt down a server to fill my water, which never happened by the way.
The entire dining experience was depressing. The food is mediocre at best. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the pesto pasta. Both were completely bland.
The chocolate cake was laughable. The creme Brule wasn't any better. You can taste the torch and it taste like gasoline.
I'm extremely disappointed in how I was treated at this establishment. Waitng 20 minutes for water is just wrong. Please do better. This was ridiculous!!
This place is a paradox. The food is great. The cocktails are phenomenal, and the staff is really pleasant, but they are SLOW!!! I have been there twice. The first time, it was really busy and there only seemed to be 1 server, so I assumed she was in the weeds and chalked it up understaffing which continues to be an issue in all industries. We returned a few days later and there were was almost no one in the restaurant. I figured this would be perfect. Had the same pleasant server with the same gorgeous smile. The same delicious cocktails and food. And it was still really slow. It has to be a training issue, because the staff is so nice and genuinely seems to want to provide good service. I don't think they need new servers, I think they need the train the servers they have better. When it comes to food and cocktails though ... don't change a thing.
I was starving when we arrived and we had limited time so our waiter wasted no time giving me his favorite dishes that would fill me up. We had the meatballs, pear salad with goat cheese, burger and salmon over fettuccine. Everything was tasty. Service was attentive and quick.
If I had time, I would’ve ordered another Lift Ticket and sipped it while munching on their perfect fries.
Definitely coming back!
Caesar salad was 4 romaine leaves, 3 halves of cherry tomatoes, and some parmesan.
Tandoori chicken came on the bone, but in a shaky bowl with sides too high to cut the meat off the bone for some reason.
Just a weird food experience. Probably fine if you want to have a cocktail alone.
Stayed at Hotel Julain recently and went to lunch downstairs at this restaurant. Overall it was a good experience. Little on the pricey side. I went with the corned beef sandwhich (it was St. Patrick's day BTW) which was good. Bread was nice and crispy along with seasoned meet. Great tasting pickles on the sandwhich. Fries were good but had a little too much salt on them. I saw a beef Wellington on the counter when we arrived. Maybe next time we will have to try that out.
Give the place a try
Staff were very friendly
