Best WLM Reviews

What a phenomenal Asian (as well as as others) fusion eatry! They have a lot to choose from. Parking (plenty of spaces), however, can be tough due to their location in town, plus popularity...so get there early. All the staff is super courteous! A++++. I live in Southern Maryland and actually by shear luck stopped here on travel through the region. Now the wife and I are actually intending to plan our next trip down south so we can swing in again. Wish I had taking more pictures...but was overwhelmed by the selections, perfect timing and superb staff.
Our granddaughter graduated college from UAB, and we wanted to have a celebration with the family to recognize this achievement. She selected this restaurant, and we all loved it! The food, the drinks, and our server, Andrew, were awesome! There were so many choices! What a fun night!!
It has a variety of Thai and Japanese foods. My server (sorry, I've forgotten his name) was patient and ensured that I had every I wanted. A quiet atmosphere, punctated by guests' voices. I enjoyed the ube ice cream. It was a pleasant first experience.
My first time I got the Mississippi Summer mixed drink and then the Curry noodle bowl with the pickled veggies and Northern Thai curry. That Curry no doubt is some of the best Curry Ive ever had. The drink is sweet not too sweet and has nice floral and citrus notes. I sat at the bar and talked with a bartender who in graduate school for neuroscience. She is super kind, friendly, and social. All around the vibes are good. The staff is friendly and chill, as well prompt and focused on serving.
2/12 update: in response to the owner’s comments, please note that I left a message at around noon the day of the dinner and called right after they opened at 5 to update the headcount on the reservation.
Used to really enjoy dining here, but our most recent experience was a disappointment. We had made a reservation for 10, but I had to adjust the reservation and make it for 7 since we had a several cancellations the day of.
When we arrived, we were seated a GIANT awkward high-top triangular table with an entire empty row due to the cancellations. We had guests travel in from out of town and it was near impossible to have a conversation due to the scale of the table. If you had the unfortunate luck of sitting next to the empty row, then you were essentially left out of any socializing.
We noticed a regular table clear out and we politely asked our server if we could change our table and he was very understanding. Then the manager came to our table and told us that we would have to remain and that the table we wanted was for walk-ins.
I was left stunned and if folks hadn’t traveled in from Huntsville to dine with us, I would have personally left.
To add insult to injury, the food wasn’t as good as I remembered it and there was a $25 cake fee. We easily spent over $300 and it was such a let-down. We took the cake home and enjoyed ourselves by finally having the conversations we so desired.
In the spirit of being fair, our server was polite, the atmosphere was pleasant, but honestly when a fair request is categorically denied, even the positives don’t make up for the disappointment the manager made us feel.
Hats off to Chef Ahbi and team.
Was especially impressed with the Hangover Ramen- rich soup base with a nice complements of meat and veggies.
The pork belly with steamed buns was an interesting blend of Asian and southwestern flavors.
Dining atmosphere was excellent. And the bar offered a nice variety of cocktails. Staff was well trained and executed efficiently.
I was planning to visit Abhi's for a long time. Finally made it there last weekend.
• Food: Ordered Nepalese Lamb Curry & Ube Ice-cream. Nepalese lamb curry is the best bengali style meat curry and one of the tastiest dishes ever had in Birmingham. Ube icecream was fantastic!! It tasted like frozen rice pudding.
• Drink: Had Bittersweet Symphony and My Mexican Cousin. Both were pretty amazing cocktails.
• Service: The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
• Ambience: The decor and lighting were amazing!! Extremely beautiful.
• Value: Fancy decor, ambience, and fantastic food justified the steep price tag. Including tax and tip, the final bill came around $70.
Overall, great experience! ❤️
For some reason this was our first experience with this restaurant even though we live within a couple miles. We picked up the Iron Bowl to go and got seared tuna on the side. Literally one of best meals I have had. We like spicy and it is very spicy. Great service as well. Can’t wait for the new Lane Park location to open!
