Best WLM Reviews

I echo a few other reviews in that the unit I stayed in was not what I expected from the pictures. I had an en-suite in the lodge. You get a fridge and microwave, but the fridge was broken and all our food was frozen even on the lowest setting. When we checked in, the lady was really really nice but it seems she is overworked. There is a communal kitchen but the stove tops don’t emit enough heat to transfer through a pan, so dont plan to cook anything on a stove top. Didn’t try the bbq but looked new ish. The plants are not watered and the whole place is very tired. On our last night we were kept up till 1am from the noise in the unit next to us as the walls are paper thin. It was a really good price but wasnt what we expected at all and it’s the first time I’ve thought of leaving to try and find another place to stay. There were a few big cockroaches that we had to get rid of but that is what you get in an old motel in Downtown. The location is great for people going to Abel Tasman park as it only took us 20 minutes to get to Marahau! Hopefully this place gets a face lift soon and the lady working gets some much needed help! I would stay here for one night if I needed to but would likely try to avoid it.
I found this motel to be second rate all around. Internet was not functional, towels were very scratchy, shower head was corroded and didn't flow well, cold water was warm, and skeleton keys make me nervous when I think of a possible fire. Staff was friendly and it was decently equipped (though dated). Neighbor saw a cockroach, but my room seemed okay.
I would rate this place as good option (better than average and less than very good) according to NZ standards considering quality/cleanlyness/service. In Europe this kind of accomodation would be a pension with 1* in some countries not existing!||||We went there following the recommendation from another motel that was fully booked and we got the last room in busy Motueka (even if no high season). Staff was very friendly and the ensuite room was correct for the starndards in NZ (with kettle, toaster and kitchen set, access to a garden and shared bathrooms). The price was also good, 70$ per night per room (according to price standards in NZ). Room was going to a small garden, far from kitchen and it was quiet. Mattress (as in most of motels in NZ) are only acceptable, but still a relief when you are really tired.||There is a huge full kitchen to share but I would advise not to make use of it and go to RSA restaurant next to the hotel, cheap and with delicious beers and food (fish&chips)||It is not in the city center but reachable by walking||Wifi was for free and working fine||They have lot of leaflets about activities in Abel Tasman Park and staff is willing to help with calling for reservations||Parking for free as a motel style
This is an older but well maintained property. I was in a studio that had a refrigerator, microwave, eating utensils and a small dining table. The motel has paper thin walls, but my neighbors were very quiet. Very reasonably priced. When dealing with the motel directly, I paid NZ $80 per night.
A great better than "budget" motel. I had 3 piece bathroom with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, TV and radio in my room. Secure parking outside the door. There are table and chairs outside each motel and a large kitchen with all cooking facilities including tableware and cutlery. Laundry with clothesline and dryer. Friendly staff.
A great place for the price and located 4 minute walk to downtown Motueka.
For the price it's a great bargain and that is why I give it a 5 star rating.
We were only here for a night, that was enough. The place was clean enough but there was something seriously wrong with the floor in the toilet, it was swollen that much that the door could hardly shut. It felt like you could fall through, very spongy. There was no smoke alarm, it had been taken down and the piece it screwed onto was still there. The woman never had note from the booking place to say we had changed the day, either that or she had lost the email! I slept in the double bed and it was comfortable but it smelt a bit like someone had been sick beside it. It was close to town so that was something, you could walk.
The place is pretty basic but is clean, the bed was comfortable and decent value for money.||We were booked in for 3 nights but left after only one as the owner's wife was so rude to us on arrival. ||When we told her that we would be leaving on account of her behaviour she threatened to call the police!||English is not her first language so maybe some of the nuances are lost on her. However I doubt her behaviour would be acceptable in her home country and it's certainly not in New Zealand.
Had to use this for 1 night as I found myself stranded! The property is old (even for nz standards) and needs maintenance work. The shared kitchen and laundry had signs things were out of order.||The one thing though was that I didn't see any smoke alarms in bedroom or kitchen. Is this legal in nz? ||If you don't mind this was fairly cheap close to town shops however there are better places at same price.
