Asked for medium rare, sent it back both times just to get a completely rare steak & ended up not eating & still paying for the ticket of my other guests items & at the end tried to add 2 extra items on my ticket, of course they acted like it was a mistake. First time for everything & that will be my last at this establishment. Thanks for ruining my appetite & meal ! Need better cooks !
They were pretty busy, but keeping up very well! Nice, clean and stylish atmosphere. The menu had a vast variety of choices (very impressive) and the food was so good,.. nice size portion and excellent servers! Our entire group was very satisfied, we will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I have been coming here about once a week for the last year and it has never ever disappointed. Not only is the food fantastic but the staff is so kind and genuine. Such a great place to meet with family and friends. ❤️
If you are in Springfield, IL and looking for a basic family dining experience that is favored by the locals and good for kids, Abe’s Hideout is an option.
The theme and accompanying decor is what you would expect given the name, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The reason for only three stars is the cleanliness of the restaurant. The vinyl floor is not exactly clean, it is wearing through in places, and buckling down the middle.
Additionally, the men’s bathroom floor was literally sticky. You know the situation, where when you exit the bathroom your shoes make noise as you walk through the restaurant and people look at you.
Nice dinner. The girls were sweet, attentive and very prompt. Checked on us during our dinner. Friendly people in the restaurant. We came from out of town for the day. Thank you. Happy Holidays to you all.
First and foremost, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the pork tenderloin horseshoe at Abe's. It's a must-try for anyone who loves comfort food with a twist.
The tender, juicy pork is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and it pairs beautifully with the delicious cheese sauce and crispy fries.
I opted for the ponyshoe because I had a long drive ahead & didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel. Still the portion size was generous, making it an excellent value for the price.
However, the food is just one part of the amazing experience at Abe's Hideout. The service at this restaurant is truly incredible. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. The staff at Abe's is incredibly attentive and friendly.
I highly recommend Abe's Hideout to anyone looking for American tavern-style food in Springfield, IL.
I'm looking forward to trying other menu items the next time I'm in town.
The thing that really hit it out of the park for me was when the waiter (Katie) put a cat on my sisters to-go box because she wasn’t feeling well and had to go home, And my sister was showing her, her cat stickers.
On the road and had to grab lunch. They had a great menu. Friendly service. Good food and good prices. We had burgers and the Italian hot sub and they did not dissapoint. Truly some of the best French fries I've had in a very long time. Full bar with lots of options. Drinks were kept full and food came out quickly. Family friendly hangout with adult gaming room. Reasonable prices and portions. Would recommend if driving thru Springfield.
