Friendly, knowledgeable staff who seem to have everything they need to tackle pretty much any kind of transmission problem. Reasonable prices too, as far as transmission work goes.
Update: had transmission pulled out because of horrible noise and she no go anymore. Well A&S were the only ones in it before and this current problem was the bolts in the flywheel had come loose. In my opinion this should be a non-issue of you use some locktite and a long handled wrench. Also, I was told that the factory torque converter (which had allegedly been replaced with an upgraded billet converter) had likely been painted black and put back in.... Although I haven't yet brought the parts by the A&S shop yet to get their take on it. In light of the other reviews here and my own personal experience, I will be using a different transmission shop in the future.
This business owner is extremely reputable & has worked on multiple cars for me in the past and present. A Toyota Avalon transmission was going out & after a week with him it's still running today and this has been 6 years. The Chevy blazer same thing and I got it back in less than a week. He's also worked on things for me besides transmissions and his work in itself shows that he's very knowledgeable and professional when I drive off and all my vehicles problems are gone.I would recommend this business to my family and friends and hope you will also.
I had my transmission rebuilt through this place. The warranty was one year 10,000 miles my transmission leaked from the day I got it back it went out on me again and 9500 miles and 11 months So it was covered under warranty he rebuilt it although he was not happy about it I asked him if there was another one year or 10000 mile warranty on this one he said no and now I know why when it went out again I couldn’t afford to have it rebuilt again by anyone so I did my research and started disability. Not long into disability I discovered there was no gaskets in between the valve body, separator plate, and housing which is from what I understand and have been told by a creditable mechanic is the most important gasket in the transmission and in no way could be accidentally left out especially by a shop that supposedly specializes in transmissions Ether way they were left out which resulted in total transmission failure at 6500 miles after he rebuilt it for the second time. Do I think it was intentional well I’ll let y’all be the judge on that but further inspection resulted in missing 3-4 clutch release springs. I will never do business with this place again and will warn everyone I know to not bring their vehicles here. My advice to the owner is if you don’t like doing warranty work then fix it right the first time don’t blame the customer for your mistakes and intentionally leave out parts that will result in catastrophic failure costing the customer more money if I could give this place and owner zero stars I would!
