Oh man do yourself a favor and go here. EASILY THE BEST SANDWICHES anywhere in a 50 mile radius (I can’t actually think of anything better at the moment). Really good. While they may not “look” like anything extraordinary, the flavor is outstanding. Imagine just having a REALLY great sandwich that hits the spot every time…That’s this place. A new favorite for sure!!! I got the double meat pastrami and the wife got the club. Both were AMAZING!!!

And I've managed to find yet another place I've been repeatedly yet not reviewed.
30 years ago, there were 3 great sandwich places - that I knew - in Sarasota, Anger's on Lime, Subconscious on 301 & A's on South Trail (US 41). The other two are gone, both well before Covid showed up. A's continues the tradition and we are better for it.
The food is great, made right there in front of your eyes to your direction in a manner you would use at home.
And the staff is friendly & polite even in the middle of a lunch rush.
Located in a strip mall and parking can get tight when busy. And the wait can get to the more impatient who insist on eating at specific times. Be flexible and you'll be rewarded.
Sure, you can eat at one of those chain sandwich shops that exist nearly everywhere, but when you can get a fresh pastrami sandwich on rye bread made by caring hands, why wouldn't you?
Thank God this place isn't close to my house otherwise I'd be here on the daily! Hands down the best Italian sub you will ever have! From the soft fresh bread with just the right amount of chew, made in house, to the salty cold cuts, mildly zesty sub sauce, pepperoncinis with just the right amount of sour, Fresh Soups and baked cookies. Amazing!
We love A’s!!!! Best bread in town. Not to mention a Sarasota staple. Everything is fresh and their sweet tea is banging! Staff is always friendly and it’s the same smiling faces. They know our order by heart when we walk in. Love that place.
Fantastic subs! If you are a sub lover, you will love this place. I always make a point to stop in for lunch when I'm on that end of town. My favorite is the Italian as shown in the pics. Their sub rolls are so soft and fresh all the time! Staff is always friendly.
The best sandwiches in the area. Do yourself a favor and go here instead of one of those chain sandwich places. Better food with better quality.
The folks here are great. Steered me in the right direction when ordering and then called me after I picked up to let me know I left a valuable item! Super honest, kind people at this place. ❤️
Unbelievable subs. Service was 20/10. Love this old place and hope it stays open another hundred years. Nearly impossible to find gems like this anymore. Skip jersey Mike's, save money, and eat local.
