We have been a few times and the last couple was met with rudeness.
Last time we went he told us to come back in 30 mins so we did. We then sat for another 30 mins to then be told he didn't tell us to wait and then rudely say to come back yet again. We left and didn't go back. If he had acknowledged that we were waiting for him to get done we would have stayed. I wasn't stoked about the quality but given Newport is short of nail salons I overlooked it. They have either popped off or wasn't done all the way to the nail growth and done with gaps at the side. Quality low.
John is amazing! He does an amazing job and I’ve been super happy with my nails since I started going here!

He has always been very accommodating and a
friendly. I always leave there with a smile on my face. I wouldn't go anywhere else!????

He is good and your nails do last, but he is over priced and especially now that it's just him.
The guy that did my nails was friendly, had a smile, knows how to do a great job in 20 minutes. I live my nails and I am planning on going back to get my nails filled and change my nail color. You won't be sorry. Go give them a try. You'll love them also. This what they look like, however they do need a fill. If they are busy they may not see you at first, but will acknowledge you when they have a second. You just need to be patient with them.
I don't understand the negative reviews on here. I called for an appointment & was given one for the same day. John greeted me by name & we talked the entire time, such a nice young man. He did an incredible job & I'm more than pleased.
I’m a resident and former customer of John’s. First, John is nice if you “know” him. If he doesn’t know you, he’s very dismissive, will not acknowledge you, and will charge you extra. I went in once for a fill but I had a mask on and he didn’t recognize me. He was rude and very short. I’ve been getting my nails done when people come in and he won’t greet them. It’s not very welcoming.
Even if you have an appointment prepare to wait half an hour or so as he’s usually running behind. I get it. It’s tough to run a busy nail salon when you’re the only one working. But, people should know that if they’re going to select this location for nail services…appointment times vary. And regularly.
Also, my nails always lifted after about a week. The shape was always wrong. John is very hit or miss with quality. Regular broken nails. And getting an appt to get it fixed was just not happening. He’d say to just come by to fix it and when I would stop in he couldn’t repair my nails ever. So I’d have to routinely run around with a couple broken nails. Not okay with me.
Anyway- now I make the trip to Corvallis every two weeks. It’s not that far from Newport and I like shopping in the valley…make a morning out of it. And my nails are bangin now. I know John will always stay busy and I’m glad for him. But, I don’t recommend this business.
