???? I DON’T RECOMMEND A&M ????
I had a very bad experience with this company, 1. They lied that they are carriers which they are not, THIS IS A BROKER COMPANY.
2. They give you imaginary estimate prices but when the carrier arrives gives you the estimate which was very higher than what was agreed.
3. They damaged my items and when i tried do file a claim the insurance company said that they don’t work with A&M.
This is not far from being scam!!!!
Do NOT hire this company. They sent movers out who first tried to double the price quoted for the move. Then they indicated my goods were "fully covered" when I asked if my motorcycle and goods would be fully covered for replacement if damaged. I asked them to take care that two of my items were high theft items, they said not to worry. Both items "disappeared" and never delivered. I told the driver that I would be at my destination the next day and asked when my goods would be delivered and was told it would take about a week. It took over a month, the movers arrived at midnight, unloaded my boxes that were not only wet/soaked, but wrapped in plastic as if they tried to protect them after the fact. Some of the contents were no longer usable, some were broken. My 75 inch TV was crushed where someone apparently tried to move it by grabbing it with two hands. When I filed my claim I was told I was only covered for 60 cents per pound!!! The form the movers had me sign (quickly, saying I was fully covered), was incomplete, but the fine print said I was only covered for 60 cents per pound (bait and switch?). That means my 600 lb Harley Davidson, $20,000 motorcycle would have only been covered for $360...what kind of nonsense is that? Bottom line was that they offered less than $65 for my $800 TV that they broke during delivery, no compensation for my missing dolly and ladder, let alone the other items rendered ruined. I asked only that they cover my TV...they stuck to their guns and said the paper only required 60 cents per pound. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THESE CROOKS!!!!! They are unprofessional, irresponsible, and a bunch of liars!
Do not use this trucking company? My good friend used this company to move to Florida. I was helping her with the process the whole time so I know all the gory details. A & M Movers will give you a low estimate without even looking at your space and belongings and then jack it way up. They are unprofessional! They use inexperienced workers that they contract out, not regular employees and rented trucks. They did not even arrive with the proper packing materials. Your belongings will be transferred at least three times before they get to you. Items will be missing and broken. All of her delicate items and art work arrived in pieces. They even managed to destroy her pyrex pieces. And then they will extort an exorbitant payment before they will unload your stained and damaged furniture. Her white sofa looked as if it had been left out in the rain and then run over. Find a reliable company with their own trucks and make sure your belongings will remain on that truck until they reach their destination. Beware of cheap price quotes! Not to mention terrible customer service! If you call asking when your belongings will arrive they get huffy with you. Once you have signed your contract, your sales agent disappears.
I purchased a solid wood wardrobe from a company that was to be delivered to the second floor. The first delivery company arrived with 2 people and said they could not deliver b/c the piece was too heavy (~300lbs). A&M took over the delivery and were able to get the piece upstairs and put in place in less than hour. Very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend.
They were supposed to deliver and order and have changed the date and/or time at least 4 times. Sitting for the 7am delivery now, and it is already 8:30am. No call, no text, no truck.
this company should have a zero rating. they are one of the most unprofessional moving companies I have ever come across (and I have moved a lot)! they didn't show up on our scheduled move, they did NOT give us a new estimated amount prior to the move when they did show up and then after they were finished loading up the trucks they said we owed them double the amount we were quoted and agreed to. they have not been in contact with us, leaving us to chase them down and now they are holding our belongings hostage because they say we owe them $4000 cash before delivery! this issue should have been handled professionally between their company and the 'broker' they utilize. unfortunately we will now be contacting the authorities and go forth with a recovery effort. absolutely disgusting!
Where do I start...came later than expected window time to pick up our things. They sent 2 men so it took a little over 5 hours to get everything onto their truck. They quote you a low price compared to the competition and take your down payment to lock you in. At the time of pick up AFTER they load your things onto their truck they add on the real charge along with fees that you didn't even know existed. Eg: charged for elevator, long haul, and stairs (cost us an extra $575 and there were no stairs). Total cost to move interstate $4200. Original estimate $1700. They store your things for up to 30 days. The communication was good up until when we got to our new home. They did not drop off the expected date. We received our things two weeks later. What happened? They didn't call to say that the truck with our things was pulled over, driver arrested, truck towed, couldn't locate truck. When they found it they had to prove that the items were things they are transporting for other people. Still they did not communicate with us. We had to keep calling and much of the time the calls were either not answered going straight to voicemail or directed to the 1 person they have working there. Always we'll call you back. NEVER happened. Filed a claim with government who manages moving companies. That's when we got any answer from them. As a matter of fact the driver with the truck became our contact. Finally a and m sent another truck to get our things, then their truck broke down had to be at the mechanic. When we did finally receive anything two items were lost and many items were damaged. My mattresses were wet and smelly, broken furniture, the list goes on. Advice to those moving....take only a few things and start fresh if you can. Sell or give away your furniture if you can. Also family and friends are there either for free or pay them a little cash. Use them to help you move your things, rent a uhaul, take turns driving, sleep over at a hotel. Save yourself money, stress, any hassle. We filed an insurance claim that takes 4 months to resolve, and I already know it will not cover the cost to replace all my things.
This is for the Fairlawn, NJ location that identifies at Move with AM. There seem to be two different locations on Google.
I do not even know where to start. My items are never coming. It has been a month now. My move was from NJ to GA. I signed up with Moving.com and this company reached out to me with a quote. They charged me 464 on my credit card for the deposit. I was to pay the remaining 1200 in two installments. I signed up for services with Logan. This man is a crook.
1. The movers called me they day before the move to tell me the confirmed moving date and time. I kept calling them because qualify assurance never reached out to me to confirm my move and items.
2. Two movers arrived (Gilberto and Alex) finally that day, and Gilberto made me sign blank documents before they would proceed with the move. They also wrote different information on my carbon copy and not the original documents.
3. Inventory is missing items.
4. My original quote was 1785 and it went to 2900. They attempted to charge 4900 but I threatened to take my items off the truck. They finally talked the price down because I was going to call the police. Gilberto himself also admitted to the deceptiveness of his own company and consistency apologized.
5. I moved only half a 1 bedroom apartment, so I left all of my living room furniture.
6. I tipped the drivers very well after they made it seem like they cut me a break from the 4900 scam. I even bought them lunch. They do not know how to calculate volume or cubic feet. No matter the dimensions of the boxes or items, they kept adding extra. (Gilberto also wanted me to give them a 5 star google rating for an incentive and I declined)
7. They told me because all my boxes could not stack on each other, I had to pay for the cubic space of the truck and not the cubic feet of my items.
8. The dispatcher manager Dave was nasty. Period!
9. I have falsified copies of my documents and carbon copies. I called Gilberto out on it and he said that he could not put the cash amount on his documents until he works out the numbers with his carrier.
10. I paid the driver 1280 in cash because it was too late to get a money order by the time we got the quote. The original documents do not even have this cash amount listed as a payment but they assured me that they know how much I paid.
11. My move was on April 8th and I was told that my items will be delivered 5-15 days from April 9th. It is now May 3rd and there is still no update.
12. Anastasia lied to me 2 weeks ago and said my items were being delivered that week. Nicole then told me that my items are still at the warehouse.
13. I call once a week for an update and still nothing. Today Nicole told me my items will be delivered 21 business days from April 9th. So I said, then that means this Friday. She says, I cannot guarantee that. Possibly Next Monday or Tuesday.
14. I asked if they go past the 35 business day mark on the contract (May 27th) then what? I just want a timeframe or a week to know when my items will be delivered, and I was told they just don't have an update.
15. I filed a complaint with FMCSA, apparently this company only has 3 trucks and 14 complaints of deception, hostage, delivery problems and even false contracts. The database showed these were complaints from Jan 2021 to March 2021, so this is not even including my complaint or others form April 2021.
16. I am contacting an attorney, the police, and NJ Consumer affairs. My items have been stolen and so has my deposit and moving fees ($2000). They have no intentions on delivering my things.
17. I was scammed for over $20,000 worth of personal belongings and $2000 worth of cash. They breached the contract numerous times and they also do not respond to emails. Do not use them!
