As a professional food reviewer, I have not been to a ninety-nine in some time. I decided to get the fish in chips. The fish was nicely fried, but I felt that the oil might have been a little old. The amount of fish I received was plenty. One thing I found off was the taste of the tartar sauce as it had a funny aftertaste to it. As for the rest of the meals, everything was pretty good. When I showed up, they were doing a shift change, so the service was a little bit slow.
It was empty almost at 11:30am Easter Sunday. Staff wasn't surprisedly . They had a special menu. I had the turkey ???? dinner. It was tasty. It didn't stay hot though If the plates were warmed that wouldn't have been a problem.. Cold mashed potatoes and gravy weren't the best. Everything else was to temp.
Our bartender Alexis, did an amazing job today! Memorial day weekend, this woman was not only bartending, but also taking orders, running food and cashing customers out. Management were clearly unprepared and understaffed for this holiday and it was clear that they did not care: the host, was eating on the job and did not help with tables whatsoever. We were seat at the bar(which was fine) but we were seated there because they did not have enough help to cover tables.
Alexis, you did an awesome job and due to your service today would be the only reason i rated this establishment 3 stars. I severely hope the 99 does better in the future and shows Alexis some appreciation for her hardwork and dedication to this company.
We had gotten the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, a Vermont cheddar burger and motzerella moons, along with house margaritas. Our waitress (I believe kelly), was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, and came out extremely quick and fresh. Hats off to the cook for sure. I had told my SO not to let me forget to tip the cook, and we did ???? He or she truly deserves it. We were seated quickly when we got there, the host was super friendly as nice. I had grabbed a free area map to look over while we ate, bc we ended up stuck in the area for the day, and he tried to help me find where exactly we were on the map, i gave up quickly while he was still trying to help look.( FYI I never did find it lol) The food was superb and we were stuffed from the Mac and cheese for the rest of the day- we didn't eat again, we couldnt. I would definitely recommend.
There was limited seating, due to staff shortage, so we were offered bar seats, instead of waiting. Our waitress was wonderful, she got our drinks right away, offered us popcorn to snack on while we waited, and very accommodating. The kitchen had a hiccup with my plate, but made it right and came out to personally deliver it. Minus the bar seats, we wouldn't have known they were short staffed tonight, but to be honest, the kids thought being able to sit at the bar was a real treat!
2 people in our party ordered steak and was rare on both. Sent back and came back medium rare not medium. Also had no taste so saying seasoned to perfection is a lie. A new york string should be more than a half inch thick
I absolutely love eating at 99, particularly at the bar. It's such a great atmosphere and getting chat with bartender makes it a good time. The food is always delicious, I never had a bad meal here. I often like to try various dishes for fun and prices are not bad at all. I've been eating here since it opened up many years ago. It's always a great place to grab a bite.
If you like coffee, they have good coffee and they keep it fresh.

Just as good as I remember from the one in Groton, CT. Food is very good, decent portions and prices were fair. Tami, our server, was very friendly and was always checking on us for refills and everything else. I do recommend it!
