Quality Hawaiian BBQ place in a casual neighborhood setting. The beef ribs, although they can get real fatty, are fall off the bone tender, and have great smoky flavors.
Ordered their combo plates (-$16-$17): Kamoa (bbq chicken and katsu chicken) and Momena (bbq chicken, Kallie ribs and beef ribs). The taste is out of this world. The ribs, oh the ribs is so delicious, moist, pulled easily from the bone. The portion is good for two meals so the price is pretty inexpensive. Will come again to try their loco moco.
Huge disappointment with the quality and flavor of my Kalua pig plate! Both the pork and the mac salad were runny and lacked the flavors I expect from a hawaiian plate lunch. It may pass for haole people or those of us starving for the flavors of home. 808, be true to your (hawaiian) roots if you want to call your business "local hawaiian grill"!
BTW, your menu said green salad as a side, not spinach leaf. You should offer an option and not assume everyone can eat Spinach - like me who simply can't for health reasons.

Ordered the rib plate and WOW! This spot was worth the wait and totally amazed that only 2 employees were handling everything. Totally worth eating at 808
Authentic local Hawaiian food, this place will not disappoint. I recommend the beef ribs and chicken katsu. Don't forget to double down on the Mac salad! We always add a few musubis anytime we stop by. Absolute best choice if you're missing the islands or want to experience island flavors
The perfect "Hole In The Wall" joint. Service was slow (because they were so busy), but the food was So Worth the wait. I highly recommend the Beef Ribs and Macaroni Salad. You will not leave hungry, but you will leave wanting to come back again.
When you walk inside, it definitely looks like this place has been here for a while. There are lots of pictures and items to look at. Definitely not merch for sale but decor?
The person who took my order was super nice and patient with me. Sometimes, you look at the menu before you get there and know what you want. By the time you get there, sometimes you draw a blank. The menu was hard to read because the menu is behind you.
We ordered:
1. The pipi- beef ribs and kalbi. The beef rib was Onolicious. The kalbi you can taste the grill char but was missing something. Maybe it wasn't marinated? The mac salad was too sweet.
2. Big kahuna - It sounded like a good idea to have hamburger patty, Portuguese sausage, and spam, but it was too much. We couldn't taste the difference between each meat. The gravy tasted different. I had ordered all rice but got mac and some sort of salad.
3. Hot dog musubi and spicy spam musubi were good, just smaller than what I'm used to.
Think we have to come back to try it again. Everything was made fresh to order.
Saw this place on tik tok and realized it was like 6 miles from my house and wanted to come and try the famous ribs and it did not disappoint totally worth the trip
