5280 Burger Bar impresses not only with their perfect burger but also offers a delightful selection of beers on tap. The harmonious combination of a flavorful burger and quality brews enhances the overall dining experience. Impeccable service further solidifies this spot as a must-visit, where culinary excellence meets a diverse beverage menu.
Not gonna lie this place was disappointing. The burgers on the menu are described much better than they actually taste. I got the Mac and cheese burger and my partner got the Durango. Both of our burgers were lacking a lot of flavor which is what we were honestly expecting based on the descriptions and how they looked.
Quite frankly they looked way better than they tasted.
The best part of our meal was the appetizer we ordered (loaded fries) as these had flavor and were pretty tasty.
Another downside is that if you want a side with your burger (as most people do), you’ll have to pay an extra $4 (for just fries) on top of your already about $14 priced burger.
I love a good burger, but this place left more to be desired.
Went in for my birthday, and i must say this is a pretty cool place! The dining area and bar is very nice and clean. Full bar with a patio and lots of seating! Clean and well kept! Went with my parents and got 2 of the "I can't decide" duel slider sampler, the ahi tuna sandwich and the Durango burger.
With the samplers we tried the Perfect Burger, 5280 burger, Boss Hog and the Prime. The Perfect Burger was very close to Perfect! Its an Angus Beef patty with Gruyére Cheese. A Bacon Onion Jam and pickled Red Onions. And finished with lettuce and garlic mayo. The buns are soft and moist. The 5280 burger is a classic cheeseburger. Nothing special but very good. The Prime burger is a wagyu patty with an onion ring and BBQ sauce. The sauce is interesting. Maybe not my favorite bbq but it was ok. The boss Hog had potential but I thought the pulled pork on top was dry and dried out the whole burger.
The Fly Fisher (ahi tuna) was AMAZING! The tuna was perfectly cooked and the Wasabi aioli was soooo good!!
The Durango burger had jalapeño cream cheese and crispy onions. A little sloppy but the mess didn't deter from a great review!! Spicy but not too overly spicy. It's a good choice if you like jalapeños on your burger!
One downfall is the burgers don't come with a side. The sides are extra. We got side salads, the fries and rings combo and the fried brussel sprouts. The fries and rings are GREAT!!! CRISPY AND FLAVORFUL. Hand cut and fresh!! The side salads are good and the house made croutons from buns are delicious! The sprouts were very well cooked. Crispy but not overcooked!
Overall the food is great! 9/10! The prices are a little steep. $120 for lunch for 4. The service was good. Nothing over the top, but I will definitely be heading back to try some more of their food!!
So the food is great and the service is good.
The thing that got me was a 2% living wage charge for the kitchen staff. Like, shouldn't kitchen staff wages be part of the price on the menu.
And the charge isn't on there if you pay through the app. I stopped my payment through the app to make sure the kitchen gets that 2%.
Maybe I'm too sensitive, but your prices should reflect your operating costs. If you can't afford your kitchen staff at the prices listed, raise prices. I would gladly pay the premium. But this way of doing it is dishonest. And I don't like a deception like this cause while it may not seem to harm anyone, you lied about your price, what else are you deceiving me on.
I wish I had been ignorant of the charge. The meal was excellent and the staff was friendly and informative. But I won't be back, and that makes me sad.
Stick to the burgers. My kids did not like the Chicken nuggets. Even my husband said they were dry and “sandy”. But the burgers and fries were awesome. Service was great! **They comped the nuggets.
The food is pretty good but an charging an additional $4 to sub an impossible burger for a beef patty is obscene. On top of that, the $16 burgers don't come with fries so you're looking at close to $25 for a veggie burger and fries. It just isn't worth that. I'll come back once they stop charging extra for an impossible patty
