First time eating here, came for fish fry. My friend and I had fried fish which we both really enjoyed. The beer batter was light and crunchy, not greasy. My husband had the broiled fish which he said was "just ok"...dry, a little over done. The sweet potato waffle fries were perfect! Great service, friendly atmosphere!!
My mixed drink was all lemon lime soda with a teaspoon of whiskey. It was not a Top shelf Jameson drink. They charged me $9 for soda. My baked potato was old and microwaved. Disgusting. My salmon was barely edible. The asparagus had been seared at sometime, put on the plate with cheese and heated in the microwave. Yuck. I told my server these issues. She told me she bartends on Thursday and she would make sure I got a good drink. I so wanted to like this place. Very sad.
Our service was very poor. Our server was very rude to us. Given it was a very busy night
there was no reason for the amount of rudeness and amount of attitude given to us. Our food took an hour to get for some of the entrees. There was also an instance where a member of the party questioned the gratuity tip and our waitress told him to “not worry about it because she was very busy”
Very nice, unique restaurant. Beautiful views of the river in Altoona. Options to sit inside, outside on the deck or outside on the upper deck. Food was good, nice variety of food and drinks. James was a great server both times we visited. He made our visits very enjoyable.
They are understaffed so we did have to be more patient at times.
We LOVE 44North! It’s our favorite place in town to go. Our kids just love it here and all their friends and cousins do too! It’s a great place for affordable arcade games, yummy ice cream and great food and drinks. My favorite food to get is the broasted chicken or the boneless wings!! The General Manager Bryce is super nice and always accommodating. It’s also a great place to host parties and meetings. I wish I took pictures of the party room upstairs, we had a great coaches meeting there with 30ish people! Always great service, food and a very clean restaurant.
We really enjoyed the food. The kids enjoyed the arcade area. Only problem was drinks. We went for my wife's birthday and was told they offered a birthday drink or dessert. Wife was then told at the restaurant its a birthday shot or Ice cream. We asked for the shot menu at the beginning of our order. Menu didn't arrive until the end. Then had to go to the bar to request the shot as waitress didn't give chance to order. By the time shot was received our party had left. Service needs to step it up a little.
This was our first time eating at 44 North. The second level, overlooking the amphitheater and the Veteran Park on Memorial Weekend was a really nice feature. This is a great atmosphere in the River Prairie area and being able to have an semi-outdoor dining experience really added to it.
Stopped in for beer and cocktails. Bartender was attentive. Would have been nice to see employees smile. Drinks were good.
