I meant to write this almost three months ago but got busy. Anyway, under the new management at 421 Tire (which has been over two years now), I can safely say that the people there are honest, hardworking, trustworthy, and kind. If you work for the Post Office, then I recommend this place. I had to bring in my Prius due to my tire going flat and they found nothing wrong, and nothing wrong has happened since then (back in December of 2024). They didn't charge me for it. I can't remember the names of the two workers but they did a good job. There's nothing else to say except that I can vouch for them.
Derek Cook of 421 Auto service crashed and totaled my car.
On 3/3/24 I dropped my vehicle off through the after hours key drop. After my car sat in the lot for four days with no work on it, on 3/8/24 Mr. Cook decided to take my car out for a test drive on the foggiest day of the season, and subsequently crashed and totaled my car. You may notice inside of the auto shop (if you choose to visit it) there is a sign posted that says to “never take a car out in unclear conditions” This was not previously posted and was only printed off and hung up after my car was crashed and totaled by 421 auto. I would not recommend 421 auto service and they have obviously lost my business. I am understanding enough to realize that this was simply a massive accident and a huge mistake on their part. However due to the fact that my ONLY asset is now gone, I do not feel it was handled properly and I do not feel I got justice. Morally speaking, Mr. Cook personally could have aided me in the process of getting a new vehicle. Please choose a different auto service to entrust your vehicle with.
Here to sing the praises of 421 Auto and Wayne. These guys are trustworthy, efficient, and kind. Wayne has done several things on my 10 year old Subaru and I just won't go anywhere else now. Made an appt to get my rear brakes and roters changed. Dropped the car off at 8:10a and got a text at 10:13a that my car was done. I trust their pricing and that they are not going to do anything that doesn't need to be done. You are just not going to find that level of service anywhere else. Thanks, guys!
My wife and I were travelling through Boone when our 2013 Durango overheated on a late Friday afternoon. We stopped in to 421 Auto service and met with Derek the owner. He stopped what he was doing analyzed the problem and put some transmission fluid in to get us on our way. He probably spent a half an hour with us, and again we dropped in completely unannounced. He was very accommodating and helpful and I would recommend him to anyone in the future.
421 is my go to for anything car related. I have an older car that has needed specialized attention. 421 always exceeds my expectations. Derek is a stand up guy - fair and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Had radiator replaced on a 1992 Camry and asked them to conduct a coolant flush at the same time due to the previous owner using radiator sealant. I paid for the flush but later I find out it wasn't performed. less then a year later my thermostat got clogged by the sealant that wasn't flushed and it overheated. now I'm stuck with a blown head gasket and warped cylinder head. this place isn't what it used to be with the previous owner and would not advise getting your car worked on here.
Trustworthy! I go here any time my car has issues and they quickly fix it. I trust their entire staff completely. I have been going here for about 2 years now and I have never had any complaints. One time my parents came to visit me and had serious car troubles. I took them here and the car was fixed the very next day. Very reasonable prices too!
Best most honest auto repair around. I live in Florida and my daughters power steering on her ford went out. She took it to ford and was told the cost to repair was 2,100 at least. For a car only worth 5,000 I wasn’t willing to pay that. I had her take it to a few well known named shops in town and either they couldn’t fix it or it was around the same cost. I prayed for many days because I couldn’t afford to get her a repair or a new car. One day I started looking at a few shops just a little farther from town. When I called this shop I immediately knew I made the right car. I explained to the sweet lady what was going on and she gave the phone to Ed who I also explained the issue. He said he would be happy to get me an estimate. When he called with an estimate of only 850.00 I literally started to cry. I was so elated that God had helped me find and honest and caring place. Ed kept me up to date with the time line and when I came to get my car it was actually 30 less then the estimate. They are so honest that I would drive my cars from Florida if need be to get them fixed there. I’m todays world it’s hard to find honest and reliable people but I promise you will be surprised to find how amazing this couple are. Honesty and integrity very rare.
