My boyfriend and I go to 1947 eatery often. Nash always greets us once we walk in and makes sure we have everything we need and everything is running smoothly. The rest of the staff are very friendly and attentive as well. The food (like the service) always exceeds our expectations. This has quickly become one of our favorite places to eat. We have truly gotten a bit of everything. Chicken curry, butter chicken, chicken wings, tandoori chicken, salmon, sea bass, shrimp, lamb chops, rice and garlic naan. We have also dabbled in a few specialty cocktails. I cannot express how nice the staff was. The food is always spot on! Our personal favorites are definitely the lamb chops, chicken wings, and sea bass. Here are a few pics I’ve taken….
LOVE this place. The atmosphere is perfect. The service is always amazing and the gentlemen who work here are very kind and attentive. They have the best naan in Indy and the best desserts.
Our son wanted to come here for his birthday and they put a happy birthday song on for him with a cheesecake and candle. It was so kind.
As always, some of the best food is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall. I'm a sucker for fusion and have been wanting to try for quite some time.
Crispy corn appetizer was well spiced, fresh, and tasty. Solid butter chicken recipe, medium was a bit mild for me, but plenty spicy for most palates. Naan was phenomenal in texture and taste. Bar prices are average. The bartender Savio was well experienced and very welcoming and informative.
They have renovations in the process and their menu regularly changes so I will definitely be back to see how things progress. Thank you for the lovely meal!
I went with my eldest child for their birthday based on a recommendation from a friend. The service and food was beyond excellent! The atmosphere was lovely, music was great and not too loud. We did not sit at the bar but went in to look around. They really did a great job decorating. It gave me vibes of being back in Bangaluru. I will definitely go back, wish I lived closer.
If you love Indian food, go!
We had two of the chef’s special - he had the goat dish and I had the eggplant dish. Both excellent! We also got the veggie biryani (much spicier than we expected, but still very good). The samosas are spiced well. For me their naan is the best in town. It’s much thinner than other places. We went on a Tuesday and no need for a reservation. The man who seated us and the server were so
nice. I had lots of food questions and our server knew a lot and answered them well. Their other restaurant is Spice Club in Brownsburg and it's excellent,
too. If you’re vegetarian there are less dishes here than I normally see on the menu at Indian restaurants, but they’re still enough to choose from (the eggplant dish I got was vegetarian and totally unique from what I’ve had before and delicious).
Place has a decent atmosphere to spend time with friends and family, service took a little while but presentation of food was really good. Really liked the modern take on traditional Indian snacks
I have been to many Indian restaurants, but this fusion version was surprisingly amazing. Huge kudos to Chef for coming up with bold flavors and unique combinations. Atmosphere is very modern and unique. Service was great and food 5 stars.
Good atmosphere and service and above all delicious food. Had the touch of Bombay/Mumbai like good restaurant food taste which isn’t found in many places elsewhere. Not to forget the mouth-watering schezwan sauce freshly made by the chefs. The servers were friendly, courteous and attentive and gave great recommendations. 100% recommend - will be back.
