We actually got take out, which was delicious. Swiss mushroom burger w/sweet potato fries and chicken tenders w/loaded fries. I wish we had gone to eat there. Live music and a man walking around with a huge parrot!
Great atmosphere and not overly crowded, but they were doing a brisk business.
Went there on a Friday for dinner, drinks and local entertainment. Dinner was good but not great. The local entertainer was fantastic. The only downer was that at the time we were there they didn't have their liquor license yet so sticking around after dinner for drinks and entertainment didn't happen. Would go back once they can serve cold beer.

Great place & food. I'd say mostly homemade and large portions. Waitresses are knowledgeable on menu, quick and friendly. Owner came by table to say hello and even apologized for band saying he couldn't even take phone orders. We couldn't hear each other talk and we were at a back table.The band finally turned it down to an acceptable level we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a great time. Will be back!
My church family and I ate at 1998 Grill for lunch and it was excellent. I had their chicken strips with slaw and fries. Blue cheese dressing to dip and I think it's the best blue cheese I've ever had. The new setup in Fanning is really nice and everyone is extremely friendly. Wonderful place to take the family. I highly recommend.
We either hit the place on an Off Night where the Cook just DGAF or the 5 Star Reviews are by people with Dead Taste buds!!
ZERO STARS FOR FOOD IS NOT A MISPRINT!
(HIGH POINTS)- The New Location looks Nice, a definite step up from the previous location, a block down the road. You don't actually feel like you're going to catch Typhoid fever just walking through the door.
(LOW POINTS) ... AND THEN THE FOOD COMES OUT....and there's that Typhoid Fever fear All over again. My Girlfriend got the Taco Salad.... WHO THE HELL PUTS BELL PEPPERS (BIG CHUNKS) IN A TACO SALAD??? The Entire Salad was Tasteless except for the Onion that overpowered all other Flavors. The "Bowl" was Soggy and Greasy. I got the Catfish meal,OLD FISHY TASTING, OLD GREASE, NASTY BREADING. Just really NOT worth even Half the price we paid.

Understaffed and staff seems unhappy about helping you or accommodating you. When I asked about itemized receipt because the price seemed high, a receipt was slapped on the counter in front of me. When I questioned the $7.95 price on tue menu for the burger, a menu was slapped in front of me and she said "cheese". They had upcharged me $2.00 instead of $1.00 for cheese on a BUN-LESS burger. And I ordered a plain hotdog with ketchup which was then suggested u do the kids hotdog because it comes with fries and was charged $9.95 for a kids chicken strips with fries that doesn't even come with a drink. So for a kids hotdog and a burger with no bun and a sweet tea it was $24.00 also, I waited over 35 minutes for my order. I finally just canceled the order and there was no trying to accommodate or fix the problem. The owner just said if you cancel it, we keep the food. Well I didn't want the food at that point anyways.
Very flavorful burger ,even with the condiments the flavor of the meat came through, loved the French fries crisp and tender on the inside ,our waiter was very attentive ,will go again all 10 of us and I am confident all 10 will be happy again.
