Great place to hear great music from local musicians. The people have a cool relaxed, fun vibe. I'll definitely go back! Hope this place stays a LA hotspot. We need em!
Good jazz intimate scene friendly crowd excellent drinks
1881 is great local bar! Owen and the other bartenders are good at learning the names of their customers, and make everyone feel welcome. When I want to unwind, see friendly faces, and have a little conversation, I come here. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed and there’s a sense of community. The Jazz on Friday nights is amazing too. Check it out!
Our favorite local watering hole. We fell in love when we moved to Pasadena 1.5 year ago. Absolutely wonderful for drinks, night caps, jazz nights galore. We love the Negronis and Manhattans here - Old Fashioned too! It’s a great place to connect with other neighbors in the community, too.
Very cool bar! Fun old school vibe with well priced (and strong) drinks.Nice bartender and good food stand set up in the back. Will be back for a jazz night.

This place is a gem!!! Bartenders are so nice and welcoming. They also make proper drinks! The wife and I are martini snobs and 1881 has hands down one of the best gin martinis. I believe the gal that made it was Adda or Addy. Like all the cool spots, the outside can be a little misleading but once you're in, you get fully immersed in a suave jazzy setting. I say jazzy setting cause they also have Jazz nights!!!
We will definitely be back!!!
The jazz on Wednesdays will blow your mind. Extensive and decently priced selection of drinks.
