For me this is one of the most beautiful rest areas, a lot of history, anyone passing by should stop for a bit, even to take a quick photo and enjoy the view!
Unfortunately Wyoming missed another great opportunity to have an awesome rest area. They seem intent upon patting their cells on the back about what a beautiful state they have. And hey, they do. But a rest area should be a place of rest which would include some vending machines for water and snacks while you rest. Keyword being rest! This one and the one in Cheyenne have no vending machines and very little info outside of operating hours. So they fail in both being a rest area and an information center.
Truck parking is bit far from restrooms.Not a good view in fall.Parking and washrooms are clean.
All things considered, not bad. Bit of a hike to the bathroom area from the truck parking, but it exists, so I can not be too upset. Couple of interesting monuments on a short trail around the building.
Good place to have a rest for a long drive.
If you are a truck driver and stopping for a quick break keep in mind that it's a LONG walk to the bathroom for truck drivers. Also if the lot is snowed over it's easy to lose traction.
Lots of semi parking in the lower lot and separate car parking closer to the main building.
Strange truck parking. Lots of wasted space, and back in spots. I've never seen that at truck parking at a rest area before.
