We were in dire need of a cold drink and our first meal of the day, so I choose this place. Can you believe in a town this small, the first place we land has a VEGGIE burger?! I thanked the owner for offering this and she proudly told me it was also vegan!
It's made with tepary beans, one we've never heard of, which is native to this area, it was very good.
Hubs also had a Chipotle Burger, 'cepting his had previously moo'ed.
This place has charm and the wait staff was friendly, when we where here the bartender was a volunteer due to a leg injury that kept the bartender/server restrained to a cash register.. service was very slow because of this but we understood. We sat in the bar and made friends with a few Canadians who were passing through. The beer was cold, tho they were limited on their selection ( probably because of the inexperienced volunteer ) the sign out front said something about best burgers and craft beer that's what made us stop. Unfortunately the burgers didn't live up to the hype.. it was comparable to a cheap homemade burger, stale bun, gray over cooked patty ( I ordered medium and got well done ) there were no grill marks on the gray meat, reminded me of the frozen patties you buy at the store. 1 thin piece of romaine lettuce, not the good crunchy iceburg that you'd expect, 1 tiny thin slice of tomato, I got the black and tan burger that came with 2 little union rings that were supposed to be beer battered, if they were it wasn't noticable.. over all the burger was very light weight and not full filling at all, the french fries were really good, shoe string and cooked perfectly, I only wished that weren't so stingy with them.. if you are headed back from Mexico and or to Mexico and need a cold beer stop on in, you can eat there, I just won't recommend it.
Seriously good burgers. The craft beer was really tastey too. Neat historic building in a neighborhood filled with huge murals. We had a great time.
Authentic southwestern meals. I was there for lunch. Tasty meals from a modest menu that includes daily specials. Good friendly service.
Was excited to try a new place in little Ajo. Wish we didn't eat here! Slow service. When we did finally get our food we were very disappointed! I got flatbread melt which was so soggy and disgusting and the edges were burnt! I had to throw it away! My daughters cheeseburger was raw in the middle so we had to throw it out also! Prices were way to high. The atmosphere was gloomy. - It seemed like the kitchen was dark with no light! I'll never go there again!
A jewel in Ajo! Great burgers--thick, juicy, and they'll cook them to your preference (unlike a lot of places). Love the onion rings too. Good beer selection, but no simple domestic beers :( (Budweiser or Coors). Beer is a bit pricey, thus the 4-star rating, but overall a nice place.
Lovely atmosphere. Good service and delicious food! I really enjoyed the Salmon "burger" and sweet potato fries! My friend had the burger "salad", no bun, and was particularly impressed with the dressing!
After waiting and not getting served at Marcela's we came here and also sat waiting a good long time but there was only one server and the cook and a big crowd so...Turned out to be a good meal. My panini was the best I've ever had and my partner's burger hit the spot. Grateful that there is at least one decent restaurant in this town.
